I still experience that every day. When I go out and "touch grass", I usually don't take a "smartphone" with me, so I usually don't even know the time until I get someplace.

That's the main reason I haven't gotten a new phone in years. I'll be damned if I have to purchase wireless earbuds that I have to charge and, when inevitably lost, pay 3x the cost of wired earbuds to replace them.

I like to use older media tech, like a VHS on CRT TV sometimes. But I don't like how how I have to use it sparingly, if I want to preserve it in a working state longer. Why? Older tech is getting harder and harder to replace. Like good luck getting a CRT TV or VCR in Current Year. Now it's all "streaming" on "smart TV" this and maybe "DVR" that.

I just bought a projector off of ebay and I'm gonna need to find bulbs for it in about a year. Will definitely buy as much as I can at once so it's stocked up. I don't know if it's common knowledge, but you might want to look into that projector's cooling system. I only used a projector for a few months a few years ago and it would start displaying white spots instead of pixels (not DEAD. white.). Allegedly it was caused by overheating of one of the chips. Just a heads up, I'm no expert.

AI assistants everywhere. I just switched to a new smartphone and man does it SUCK.
* Can't delete AI assistant, so I guess there goes some hundreds of MB of my space.
* Can sort of disable system AI assistants
* UI is still littered with the assistant button.
* Want to select & edit test? AI assistant button shows up and some of the options you actually want such as "cut" are hidden behind ellipsis menu
* Want to search settings to see what else you may have forgotten to uninstall/disable? AI assistant search is there on the screen
* Change screen background? How about some AI assistant to adjust your image?
I don't want this shit and I am certain that nothing good would ever be pushed so aggressively.

So sorta like an interface seen in Idiocracy? Which reminds me: at a local post office, at checkout there is this thing with big pictures of a frowny face, an OK face, and a happy face... to rate the service one gets. I think I was reminded of Idiocracy right then and there. So far this new millennium really is quite a disturbing new millennium.
Like I said, aside from AI-generated art (at least sometimes), this Current Year AI trend SUCKS. Those "assistants", AI-generated "answers" (which is often or usually really Reddit posts), AI "girlfriends", "ChatGPT" BS, customer service phone lines being replaced with AI automated services, and of course endless daily scam robocalls from India.

The buttons in idiocracy are imo better than the bazillion layer menus we have nowadays, you can't be allowed to choose between more than two things at a time, that may force you to think!
This expectation to rat on everyone is also fucking bizzare. The amount of times I go somewhere, and am asked to rate the service is like some giga Karens dream. Also, I sometimes go to this food court that has a bubble tea stand - there is a fucking webcam in that stand that watches the girls that make the bubble tea through the whole shift. This just feels like a humiliation ritual for the employees, I have an urge to throw it to the ground everytime I walk past.

televisions have gotten so fucking shit. non-"smart" tvs literally dont exist anymore, if you want any kind of modern day appropriate picture quality youre stuck with a choice between google tv, android tv (ie google tv with extra steps) or some other retarded proprietary bullshit that will spam you with ads when you turn your shit on.
why the FUCK should a tv have a mobile phone operating system installed on it? no i will not connect my tv to the internet and i would like to turn off all ai sound and picture enhancements please. can i do that? is that still allowed? can i have all this for less than $800 or does not getting cancer along with my electronic device cost extra?
my beloved 20yo tv died last week and im livid at the absolute state of this dogshit. also i have to buy a fucking $20 cable because my old hdmi cable cant do 4k even though i didnt really want 4k in the first place because my pc cant handle it but guess what 1080p tvs dont exist anymore either and 1440p never did.

Meanwhile I have a CRT TV from the 80s that still works fine and all it would need is a digital set-top box with a coaxial output to continue watching modern TV (not that you'd want to).

I used to have a nice, tiny crttv that I played my old games on. Had the right specs for it that made the details look "just right."
Then one day I took a trip somewhere, and when I got back, it was gone, and everyone else was like "Nutroaster, that TV was old, and wasn't getting reception anymore. Why don't you get a big LCD screen like ours?"
To this day, I still haven't found that perfect CRTTV...

Something I like to do is search terms like "my trolls" "autism" or "gangstalking" on YouTube, click the filter > sort by latest/hour
You used to be able to find a lot of funny videos, like pastors addressing angry atheists in their comments, or people who have drama in general. Or you may stumble across autistic individuals who are eccentric in video vlogs.
Gangstalking is always funny, I've had hours of enjoyment listening to schizo ramblings.
But here's the thing that's pissing me off lately; there are SO MANY fucking pajeets on the Internet now.
If you type in any of those search terms now, you're going to get a million AI generated fake storys about autism, and pajeet doctors explaining autism as a disorder. Or you'll find videos that are labeled as "#funny #troll" shorts made by pajeets or roblox kids.
If you want to find new lolcows, something to laugh at, use search terms that can be applied to your favorite lolcow, and if you do the digging you can find gold.
I typically search for 'autism', and add negative search terms like "-india -indian -funny -shorts"
Etc.
It's getting harder to find these small hobbyists or individuals because of the absurd amount of Indians on the internet. And I especially fucking hate that they use English tags, or titles, when they speak a foreign language in the video.

I did, but they were more on the idea that it had "better quality" than my old CRT. That and I didn't dust it off, so they thought they were getting rid of "junk". Still doesn't excuse the loss, though...

We have reached a whole new level of retarded when it comes to vehicles. Seriously, a car is a car. I just need it to drive me from place to place based on my controls.
I bought a projector off of ebay for about $375 with all the old analog video ports. The only thing I'll be having to deal with in the future is replacing the lamp once it burns out.

i unironically considered getting a projector just to avoid dealing with the modern tv bullshit as i have a huge white wall and a perfect place to mount a projector opposite to it but the lighting conditions in my room preclude this sadly

Thing is, it was plugged in, clearly being used and hooked up. They just got rid of it to get me to get a "better" tv. That, and I had no idea they were getting rid of things in MY room.
