I personally think Toei also thought of them as an unofficial dub for their product which is more likely, and it didn't help that TFS tried to take themselves super seriously.

That's always been their stance with gag shows. They've said several times that's why they stayed away from One Punch Man despite everyone loving it. Though I think one of them in a stream somewhere before they decided to quit floated the possibility of abridging Path To Power, but that's obviously not happening now.

They made episode, they got paid, they released music and merch that you could buy, they got voices put into games, they did conventions etc.

Everything TFS did screams ‘unofficial dub'.

Even if they people at Toei liked them they would have to hit them with a thousand hammers for everything they did.

Even Tomska knows that the majority of people watch him for ASDF, and not „fat dude trying to look slim makes badly acted jokes“ or his passion project CrashZoom which used an Eddsworld character in the background waving an LGBT flag to get the crazies watch more of this shit.
He seems tired of it, maybe even hating it, but that’s the bed he made. And now he has to sleep in it until he dies or sells the rights.
Scott is far more narcissistic.
And this narcissism will be his downfall someday.

I thought about it, Eloy was really good in having an edge to him. Like he had rape jokes and a gag about being racist towards Satyrs.
Are other mainstream dnd shows this edgy?

Entertainment is a crapshoot. Everything you make is a roll of the dice and you really don’t have much choice over what gets popular unless you have some big sway with the movers and shakers.

Well, for the case of asdf, Tom apparently wrote up a whole project when he was in university about the predictability of viral internet videos.
It’s no wonder the asdf formular hasn’t changed, it always follows the same pattern which is amusing for teenagers.

However, they all also call themselves entertainers and artists. They always claim that making people laugh is the only reason why they decided to make this content.
So, if you feel so unfulfilled by creating the very thing people love you for, why not go the extra mile and make the thing that fulfills you as a side project?
