Abridged shows pretty much died with Western animation, roughly for the same reasons. Rather than just have jokes while following a story the abridged writers love, it became a cynical affair of people who hate a show, wholesale steal from it and then try to pretend why they are better than it.
There are no longer any jokes because that's not politically correct, there are either "OG" character gags or ridiculous overscripted unfunny sequences that outstay their welcome.
finally there is overdependence on "lore" that's far weaker than the original script and mainly exist for the writers fetishes/biases.

the death knell of any Abridged is starting to have musical numbers. And the new YGO episode started with one.
To be honest, I think so far that try to be the least good Abridged series is SAO (even though the writers admit that S2 is a slog to get through) and for short, while Goblin Slayer Abridged was doing some fun stuff with the material.

You know, I wanted to like this, but there’s a bit too much of Kaiser’s personal opinions of stuff in here and it kinda just takes me out of it.

Kaiser has become the Tyrant of Team Four Star for quite some years now, just because he's gay makes him think that he has all the rights and no one amongst the coworkers wants to confront him about that so they decided to become his personnal doormats

Become? I thought that was always the dynamic?

I honestly think a lime-green would've been a better option for Piccolo than yellow. Besides that, it looks more piss yellow if anything.

Sure, they want to do more, but what is this more they want to do? The 3d cg DBZ stuff they release once per 6 months? The "in x minutes" they release once per 6 months? What the fuck else are they even doing?

I think they mentioned when they ended it: they want to do more, and DBZA seemed like a major obstacle.
Anything they have done has failed. Their shitty Office clone? DoA thanks to lack of interest and Covid. Their gaming channels? No one gives a shit unless its a DBZ game. The x in minutes shit? Too long to come out. Same with the 3d stuff.

TFS had only one thing people wanted and now that they don't have it, nobody gives a shit. They should have just finished the series and costed on Paetron money. People would have been alot more understanding if they said "yeah not gonna do super or GT" than cock tease everyone and then decide a year later they were burned out.

they still stream, but the last I checked, their streams are not that popular.

That a shame, I remember their streams and let's play channel being fairly popular back in 2014-2018, Their streams back then, even non-DBZ related ones, could pull in 10K watchers because they were actually entertaining, even non-core members like Grant and Kirran were enjoyable enough to watch on there own that you'd see them pull in a pretty good audience. I even remember TFS at the table, their D&D streams, actually looking like it would end up as the second most popular D&D stream on Twitch, just behind Critical Role.

The same could be said of their Let's Play channel back in those times, any major release they played would consistently get 100K+ views per episode all the way to the finale, and some of those series ran for 50+ episodes! That's a pretty good amount of their core audience they managed to pull in to a gaming/ streaming channel, especially when you consider how many other big YT channels tried to hop on the Let's Play/ Steaming bandwagon of the early-mid 2010's back then only to fall flat. All things considered, the TFS gaming channel should've been considered a success back in its hay-day.

You know, as I type this out, I'm starting to think that maybe TFS's massive drop in overall popularity is less due to them canning DBZ:A (though that is certainly a part of it) and more due to them just...not being as fun or as entertaining as they were a few years ago. I don't know, maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but I would almost swear that the TFS of 2013-2017 would make an Office clone that was actually funny and feel, well, less like an Office clone compared to the one that post 2010's TFS made.

I feel like a lot of that is because they became plagued with current year politics. Early TFS had absolutely no problem with Hellsing Ultimate have rape jokes, but current year them cringed and hated that they have rape jokes.
