Probably, but if that was the case, a cease and desist order in regards to merch would do the trick. And apparently Toei said they'd take away the license from Funimation if they gave TFS roles, even if they're bit parts.
They probably know it isn't worth it to kick the hornet's nest and just takedown all the episodes.

It'd be strange if Toei had that much of a hard on for them that they know what they're voicing in RWBY, a series they have nothing to do with, but when it came time to cast Gecko Moriah in fucking One Piece, they somehow didn't realize they hired a TFS member.

Again, probably bit parts that amounted to nothing (but then again, RWBY V5 was so bad I don't really remember much from it). Still, seems I was right that Toei is that petty and hates TFS that much.
RWBY is wholly owned by Rooster Teeth. TOEI has no say in how Rooster Teeth casts their roles.
Both Lani's and Kaiser's parts were more akin to cameo bits, if anything.

As for Funimation, while their scene in the Buu Saga of DBKai was cut TFS still had a presence in other Dragon Ball media.
Notably, Lani, Taka, and Kaiser did voice lines in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as voice options for the male hero.
Kaiser also voiced a Freeza soldier in Resurrection F.
And like Rooster Teeth personalities Lindsey & Michael Jones, a few of TFS' members have been casted in several Funimation dubs of animes (Overlord, One Piece, and Fairy Tail being a notable examples).

DBZ is the big IP for Toei, and nobody tried to make merch for their parody show when it came to One Piece.

Toei only had control over who could voice the Straw Hats. The other characters are a free-for-all.

Not only that, but the auxilary voices for TFS are also free to continue their voice acting. It's just the core trio Toei has problems with and were effectively greylisted (I think they still are) from participating in any and all Funimation-licenced anime because of it. It's why they tried to do their own dub with Hells.

That's how petty Toei is, bad enough they're already shit with licensing and animation.

If that's one way to explain how the Cell Saga became more fandub like (Kaiser and company are pissed they can't break into the industry any further)....that actually makes a decent amount of sense.

The lack of Kaiser and Lani in their latest DBcember video reminds me of back during their video game countdown where they admit that they've never played two of the entries and only put them so high on the list because Kirran wanted them there.

Personally I'm glad they called it a day before Buu saga because Buu saga is dogshit and they should have stopped the origional with Cell. if there is one thing we can take from the last 10 years it's to quit when you're running out of steam rather than drag a franchise on for decades

Buu saga had some pretty good bits but it also had the most fluff of the entire series.

You say that like Super didn't have tournament of power i.e. "Let's fuck around for a year and somehow still rush the ending."
Not going to lie, I haven't actually watched any of Super besides the Broly movie and the other two new movies. I'll take your word for it that it has a lot of bloat and an unsatisfying conclusion.

Most animes I've watched that had a tournament arc are guilty of bloat. It's worse with Dragonball since they had a ton of tournament arcs. The only anime I recall that had a good tournament arc was Yu Yu Hakusho.

The best moments of DBZA, in my opinion, are:

When Vegeta has a mental breakdown when the Ginyu Force appear.

Everything Nappa says before he dies.

Everything else was pretty forgettable, to be honest.

Honestly, I think an abridging could make a tournament arc work because the key to having a good tournament arc (or at least a key) is having the characters have a reason to participate in it.

Eh, I don't really see it. It was a tournament arc focusing on a lot decent fights involving a variety of characters (ranging from entertaining to 'Will you just fuck off already?!') and giving most of the prominent ones some pretty good character beats and interactions (I know Roshi won't be dying and I know the Dragon Balls will undo everything, but somehow Roshi's episodes still carried weight). Wouldn't really call it fucking around outside of the 'Tiny Fighters' and Tien focused episode.

It's basically where Tori remembered that this was a gag manga & it stopped being that midway.

As someone who has, the whole show felt bloated except for (to a very low extent) Goku Black arc. But ToP was VERY stretched.

Seriously? I just remember Goku coming back after the Cell saga pushed Gohan into the lead of the series because reasons. (and now Devil May Cry could do the same shit). All I know is that Dragon Ball was a lot simpler than Z. And some could argue that Super tried (keyword: tried) to address some of the things that made Dragon Ball into some sort of joke in the anime community.

I didn't think the ending itself was rushed unless you're referring to the peacetime stuff after the tourney ended. The fight with Jiren went on as long as it could've done and IMO is one of the best fights in DB.

Baki the Grappler has a tournament arc that has so little nonsense that it is astounding. Possibly the best example of storytelling through combat that I have ever seen.

Somehow the latest arc on Netflix seems to have forgotten this approach... but the first few seasons are peerless. It is like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure if it did not become strangely effeminate.

I will never get over how Android 17, a fighter created by Dr. Gero of the Red Ribbon Army, an opponent Goku beat during Dragon Ball, managed to win the tournament of power without training against any enemy stronger than random poachers who were threatening his animal friends.

I'm personally split just because I think an Abridged Buu Saga has alot going for and against it.

Like there's alot of targets for jokes in the Buu Saga and if they brought their A-Game they probably could do a good job at poking fun at the flaws the saga has.

On the other hand however Kaiser most likely wouldn't be able to resist yaoi Goten and Trunks, Masakox despises the Spovivich vs Videl fight and I imagine their take on it could be really unfunny, poking fun at the flaws of the Buu Saga could easily become unfunny like with the Waking the Dragons arc of Yugioh Abridged where Little Kurbioh got way too reliant on the "Season 4 is dumb" jokes.
