I have expected nothing out of valve for a decade and yet I will somehow still be disappointed.

STOP POSTING ABOUT TF3! I'M TIRED OF SEEING IT! Nu-TF2 tourists on r/tf2 post about TF3, on Steam it's fucking TF3. I was in the TF2 forum, right? And ALL OF THE POSTS were just TF3 stuff. I showed Deadlock to my wife's boyfriend and I said "Hey dude, it's just like TF2 and Valve can't count to 3! HAHA DING, DING, DING DING... DING, DING-" I fucking looked at a file referencing TF in Source 2's backend and said "THAT'S LITERALLY TF3!" I looked at the 7th comic's 5 teams I think of TF3 and I go "TF3? TF3 CONFIRMED VALVE CARES AGAIN!!!" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
So, in case you've missed it, Valve is working on a "tf" project found in the main Source 2 repository. There is zero chance it's a port of the game to S2, that would be supremely retarded. I hope it's Robin Walker at the start of a TF3. You never know...

lol, lmao even. Mcnigger is getting all of this from see the letters t and f in fucking code.

I honestly hope this happens so all the leeches will move on and finally let tf2 die and let actual tf2 players take it over.
I know McNigger is generally retarded. However, he was genuinely right about Half-Life: Alyx for years in advance. He was right about other datamines in advance. And he's almost certainly going to be right about HLX again soon, years in advance. With the trackrecord of his datamining conclusions appearing decently solid, and him appearing to do some level of due-diligence (I.E. him seemingly getting genuinely super pissed at journalists who write insane headlines based off his datamines), I'm willing to believe Valve really is attempting something with the IP at the moment. Does that mean it will ever come out? No, but again, it does seem they're doing something right now, which is what he's reporting, and his explanation of what the code means, on the surface, at least seems sound. What the fuck else would the codename TF mean in this context?
WHAT DID I TELL YOU FAGS?

Even if TF3 was real, I couldn't give less of a shit about it. It would guaranteed be like going from TFC to TF2 again; a completely different game that in current year I seriously doubt Valve would be able to catch lightning in a bottle again. TF2 is not like HL, CS, Portal, L4D, etc when it comes to sequels, what the actual fuck are people thinking about when they mention the idea of a "TF3?" TF3 would not be TF2, you are asking for a game that as history has shown would be something entirely different that is being made in an entirely different time with an entirely different company.

I want TF2 to heal, not another fucking game to soy over.

To be clear I'm not saying I actually like, want a TF3. I'm saying that I'm willing to believe McNigger's reports that Valve is doing something right now, though. Again, maybe it'll just be a tech demo, like the Deck's Aperture Desk Job but for something else.

I'm categorically against new Team Fortress game development because it's guaranteed to not have custom sprays feature.

Any custom player decals for that matter. Companies these days just pussy out giving players any real form of self expression. Hell, even when you utilize their own resources to do something funny (like "pathetic blacks" voiceline combo on Reaper in OW), they will straight up nuke it

Some posts about what maps would be removed from TF2 are circulating, so I thought I'd make my own and create some map discussion in this dead and gay thread (only main rotation maps are included with the reference list).

Maps that I have up for deletion either play terribly and or don't fit the artstyle, are very mediocre, or are redundant if a reskin. Generally I find most pre-2018 [main rotation] maps to be acceptable so they're not included. The only map I have anything in particular to say about is Applejack, which is a fun well-made CTF map but it just doesn't fit the artstyle so I have to cut it out despite that.

Phoenix is like Hydro in that its a very beautiful map and one of the main standouts visually but it plays horribly.

I'd rather take weekly rotations. This narrows down the pool of maps and consolidates the player base, eliminating long queue times. These rotations would also fit well into a Quickplay system as, the way things are now, there are way too many potential picks if you were to go with the old interface.

Pick 10 mainstays, your 2Forts and Turbines, then pick 10 random ones. Even somebody as incompetent at game maintenance as Valve can implement something like this. Doesn't need any ongoing tweaking either, it's a fully automatic system.

If I were to delete something, it'd be Cashworks and every single map by Sean "Heyo" Cutino. Dude can't make a good map to save his faggot life.

He was right about Alyx because some random appeared in his discord and leaked emails or something like that of Valve and discussing how to announce the game during the game awards, and then other shit was leaked like screenshots and whatnot. Otherwise it was just speculation, forcing an early announcement of the game.

It’s all documented in his thread.

Gabe follower is better and he doesn’t make a 10 minute and one second video about two letters appearing.

Tyler is  notorious for throwing shit at the wall until something sticks. He's been outright wrong about so many things at this point its unbelievable that anyone takes his shtick seriously. A broken clock is correct twice per day.

Remember, he was hyping a TFC-themed TF2 update back in 2019. Never happened.

Haven't touched the game in weeks, bots are officially back in play? Is it as bad as it was?
From what I can tell these brief resurgences have been happening but they don't stick around. I haven't played in a month so I can't be sure but my bet would be that these won't last more than a few days.
If they do then we're fucked. Valve is not gonna fix the bots a second time, especially since it was the contractor that fixed them the first time.

Sorry for doublepost, but I think it's worthy.

Gabe Follower is probably much more realistic about this than McVicker. TL;DR - it's probably a tech demo, since Valve doesn't have the manpower to actively support another live service. No teasing about a TF3 or a Source 2 port ala CS2 - in fact, he outright says it's probably not.

calling it now: Tech demo for Deckard like Aperture Desk Job.
