A new Team Fortress 2 mod has been added to the Steam store, called
Team Fortress 2 Legacy. At a quick glance it appears to be a ripoff of Team Fortress 2 Classic, using an almost identical logo and what appears to be screenshots of an old build of TF2C. The company name for TF2 Legacy is "Enigma Studios" which is suspiciously similar in some ways to "Eminoma Studios". The mod appears to be an old build of TF2C from prior to the 2.0 update that removed Deathmatch, as the Steam page lists 4 team and deathmatch as features.
The "developers" have been in the Discussions board for the game replying to people asking questions about the mod. They've also been heavily pruning any discussion threads that they don't want being seen, as I've seen a few threads pop up and then disappear. Here is a thread where one of the developers replied stating they spoke with the TF2C dev team and got permission, with a user claiming they spoke to the TF2C dev team and received a different answer.

A pinned thread was also recently made to address questions:

What's really going on? Is any of what the developers are saying true? Who knows.
Edit: I've discovered that TF2 Legacy started out as a mod that was strictly Android-based. For a few years now there's been a way to emulate Source engine games on Android. It's a bit shit to play, but it works. TF2 Legacy started out as one such android-based mod. Far as I can tell, it likely used an old TF2C build as a base. Now that they're on Steam, they're ditching the Android stuff, but still ripping off TF2C.
They've also been avidly defending themselves on Reddit, not that anyone on reddit really cares as evidenced by the lack of comments on the post.
