Did anyone try to play TF2 on steam deck? If so, how much it sucks?
I played it while on a work trip for a week, and it is a little awkward at first, but you eventually get used to it. There are custom control configs you can get that make the controls a bit more intuitive. Classes like Heavy, Pyro and Engineer were the easiest to play. Overall it was still a fun experience.

Gyro is your friend.

Have there been any bots popping up since the bot ban? I almost exclusively play on community servers so I haven't seen how bad / good it is recently on Valve servers

I have been playing casual for a few recent months and surprisingly havent seen any bots. Just a few solo cheaters here and there, but those are usually kicked relatively fast

Casual itself still sucks though. Most games are total stomps, half of team can just ragequit after 1 failed round, resulting in consecutive rounds also being completely one sided

I hate casual servers. It's still depressing to me community servers had the vast majority of the player base diverted away from them for casual servers. So many custom map servers, communities and mods died out practically overnight because of it. I get some people wanted vanilla TF2 servers but there were community servers already running those if they just took 5 seconds to look for them

The majority of the casual playerbase is just too damn lazy to even check community servers, let alone realize they exist

The regular Casual matchmaking system seen in Overwatch/Marvel Rivals doesn't fit TF2 whatsoever. The most fun I've ever had playing the game is when I'm in those 24/7 KOTH community servers shooting the shit with random players over the span of a couple of hours. The game barely feels like it was designed to have the map change every 15-20 minutes or so.

TF2 works best when there's a good even mix of tryhards, casuals, and Gibus Goggles cannon fodder on both teams.

I gotta to say, this is probably the exact reason why playing on community servers can sometimes feel equally if not more annoying than playing on casual

Sure, they might have better game settings, but when server lacks the section of lower skilled players, you always have to play the best you can if you actually want to have fun

That's the exact reason I stopped playing OW.
