We are some days away from New Year's Eve, and I'm once again reminded of this video by Zesty Jesus.
I really wish I didn't start playing this game so late in its lifespan because the most fun I've had playing it has been on community servers.

because spy suffers a similiar case to sniper on a fundamental basis, they're both super duper edgy precision classes that have edgy cosmetics to them when the both of them are anything but edgelords, add that the majority of sniper/spy mains are retarded and you get yourself a nice cocktail.
also why are people still going on that trio of weapons? they have been nerfed and are mostly remnants of pre-MYM balance:
- the amby is not the dmr it was once and the majority of people either flocked to the diamondback (absolute cancer) or just turned to l'etranger and/or the stock revolver because it's easier to use, i do miss it since it was a counter to snipers dominating entire games.
- the kunai was always a weak knife that relied on pubshitters being pubshitters, all spy mains that shill it are most of the time pubstompers that make compilations on youtube, the instant you get people with a brain the thing becomes practically unuseable. and the old iteration was worse since it relied on the current hp of your target instead of the max hp it has got, making it way more inconsistent.
- the dead ringer is a case of being actually balanced and not making the spy unkillable if you didn't have the old pomson with you, and right now it's perfectly balanced for doing the intended job of exfiltrating from bad situations.

I didn't like the Ambassador since getting head shot is cancer but it was sort of a necessary evil to help deal with Snipers. Reminds me of Shounic's Video we played TF2 with NO Snipers, TLDR: Removing Snipers from the game causes people to have more fun and play the objective more, but use less side paths.

Most weapon changes from last few real updates were definitely bad, but amby case kinda makes me wonder if game would've been better if all crits had dmg falloff based on distance (or at least those from hitscan weapons)

People that want weapon reverts always include pre-ji miniguns and the retarded damage and accuracy ramp up.
I feel bad for the weapons that got butchered in mym and ji but I suffered for years after love and war with a minigun that didn't function.

Several games tried to copy TF2's formula even before overwatch, or were aping TFC and all failed pretty quickly or simply did not outlast TF2 despite releasing later. The problem is much harder than you assume.

The reason for the "wacky zany" humor that started corrupting Valve's games isn't hard to pinpoint.
First Portal was just Wolfpaw and Faliszek. They also helped out Laidlaw on the HL2 episodes. The humor in those games though was fairly toned and well balanced.
Now let's fast forward to Portal 2, which some refer to as the ground zero of "millennial humor".
And a bit more to Half-Life: Alyx, which is notorious for being obnoxiously wacky and zany.

If Valve still has any remains of common sense, they should lock Jay up in a cuck cell and not let him even see anything they're working on right now.

I cannot call Portal 2 their best game because of the whiplash I experienced from the extreme tonal shift from the first game. Alyx isn't as bad, but the decision to basically do Wheatley 2.0 as your guiding voice throughout the game was disappointing in the same way.

That's fair. I like Russell but they could've easily done better with someone like Kleiner or Barney. Having Russell be a new character just raises too many questions. I will also say that in no way is Alyx and P2 better than previous Valve stories, but they are still very good.

Heck no, Lazlo's death in HL2 feels very much like it's played up for laughs. I'd rather have Russell never reappear then be relegated to the random citizen model who gets gutted by an antlion. I do believe that Valve has an issue with introducing too many new characters and ideas while not not reusing them where they should like bullsquids or houndeyes. This ain't one of those situations.
