I'm not gonna lie, I'm seeing some shades of the Nux Taku and Leaflit server dramas from this.

I've played on Castaway before. I've enjoyed my time there. I have friends who play there. I've liked Gabber's videos, and I have no partiality for Gabbercat or 2Fort Twerkers or Dixie or whoever the fuck else other glup shittos are trying to orbit with their autism. However, what I do care about is this. These arguments that Random is posing in favor of his stances are... not particularly good.

In three clips, I'll let Harmful Opinions convey my thoughts on the "parents should just be doing their jobs better and the kids are probably already exposed to it anyways" talkingpoints that attempts to remove any culpability from the administrators if anything bad happens from outright knowingly letting kids and adults (some of whom are known weirdos) mingle in spaces not meant for them, as well as the "ID Verification" nonsequiter. Because, as previously mentioned, the Leaflit and Nux drama align here.

Even the American government when trying to regulate this stuff threw up their hands and went "the ESRB isn't responsible, just say something about online interactions not being moderated." TF2 is also rated M which means children should not be playing it. Steam accounts owned by parents and used by children are meant to be linked so that said children can't access M-rated games without direct permission. I don't see anything in the chat logs posted about the child player using mic to confirm they're a kid and I'm not inclined to believe obvious Sharty concern troll "EmoGayFurryTGirlMAGA".

tl;dr parents should just be doing their jobs better.

TF2 sourcemods don't need any official/verified server system. This is censorship and dictates what server operators can and can't do; it's like they own the server that you pay for monthly. Unacceptable.

It was a fundraiser to fund the production of a real life version of Meet the Medic by some people who apparently previously created two other "Meet the" shorts IRL. I've never seen either of them before, so I had no clue this was a thing. Well I was looking at the "About" tab and noticed a few names on the team for this fundraiser/project, like Skymin Slash (twitter personality/cosplay nerd), Shork (shit tf2tuber), Moonly Days (creators.tf/tf2 source 2), Sour Dani (a tranny involved with tf2 mods), and several others. Then I noticed the last project update posted was August of last year.

So I've been doing digging. The domain was parked in March of 2025, according to the Wayback Machine. The first time you see any content on the site is early June 2025. I don't think the Wayback Machine correctly archived the page as only a background image shows up, even in August 2025 snapshots which is when the last update was posted on the actual site. From what I see on Google, the project was fully funded ($115,307) back in June 2025. The Twitter page for this project is completely silent, and devoid of any real big amount of followers which strikes me as odd. It's been six or seven months since the last update in August. Complete radio silence on Twitter. Most of the team is known from other community projects that also went sideways. Who wants to bet this project has been canned too?

Developers and jannies commenting announcement posts after they themselves locked it down is a sight I surprisingly never seen before happen in Steam.


Decided to check out discussion in their discord server. Impression I got out of it is that:

• Both developers and wild guessing active discord members have this bizarre idea of TF2 mod players associating quality of servers to the mod and its creators rather than the owner of the server
• Claims of Goldrush dying because its racist??? rather than the mod being piss poor and misleading
• Developers acting like obnoxious niggers tier irony posting with constant bad faith arguments, claims and ignorant stance in favor for active police state censorship of servers while completely ignoring players ability to simply ignore servers they don't like

It's frustratingly retarded if not upsetting situation what's going on with TF2 mods, making me wonder if its estrogen that's causing new current era developers to become obnoxious thought policing faggots and ruin over 6 year of work they put into what I would assume to be their passion project. No fun allowed everything seems to die pitiful and slow sad death just like live TF2.

HypnOS, the complete fucking retard, essentially says at one point that if you as a server host don't moderate bigotry, then why should you even be a server host in the first place. That's the dumbest fucking thing I've seen HypnOS say in a long time. You as a server host are free to run your server as you see fit. If I want to run a Pre-Fortress 2 server and call it "HypnOS is a tranny faggot" and allow people to say nigger in chat, I fucking can. I don't give a fuck about inclusivity or making a bunch of degenerate faggots feel good about themselves.

The only game that even comes close to TF2 is Unreal Tournament, which is pretty much Quake.

It's not just the "hero shooter" mechanics, its the movement, too. No other game moves like TF2 outside of its legacy predecessors, and there hasn't been a true "successor" to TF2 yet.

"Click button to do enhanced movement mechanic" pales in comparison to figuring out how bunny hopping and rocket jumping "worked" through playing the game and learning the quirks and limits of the engine used to power the game.

The problem with "successors" to TF2 is they all focus on the wrong part of TF2, the class based characters, which, spoiler alert, were mostly all there for TFC, too. What TFC does not have over TF2 (outside of the obvious polish it needed to be an actual game and not a Half-Life mod, as it started life as) was polishing up the movement, by making some of the "quirks" more constant (like fixing the maximum movent speed achieved through bunny-hopping, but ignoring the same effect for explosive jumping), and buffing the spy a bit so he can actually do some combat stuff and not just be a free kill (I'm sure l33t among us will still call him a free kill for any class that isn't Sniper or Engineer, which are two of the classes that he's SUPPOSED TO BE STRONG against, but whatever) and actually defining the class roles so they didn't both kinda blend together for the "useful" classes, and make others "useless".

So they will handicap their own projects just so they can avoid these people. Trannies are very good at self-extinguishing themselves and their own work.

Watch, when Pre-Fortress 2 finally releases and inevitably nobody cares, because their game is a gimmick with forced moderation. They will blame everyone but themselves.
