I don't think I've actually watched her series yet. Was Maisie Adam always such an unlikable cunt? I'm pretty sure she complained and cried sexism about every single task in CoC 4, despite them literally bending over backwards for her because of some supposed back injury.

Also notable, Sam Campbell doing a... "rap" about how sexist Taskmaster supposedly is, decrying that there are no women on Taskmaster... While displaying a list of women, many of whom have in fact already been on the show.

At least the right man won.

An extended cut of COC4’s prize task got uploaded, which is amazing, yet it included some potentially unfortunate news.

Near the end, Sam asked about the seemingly inevitable “final” COC with all of the previous winners, and Greg said there actually won’t be one. Alex was seemingly a bit surprised, saying “Well, now we know.” This exchange was taken out of the broadcast cut, though, so the Champion of Champion of Champions Champions might still live on anyway.

I have to admit that I thought this was a weak episode, I enjoy the contestants but it felt like it never really got going. I had read that Sam Campbell was jet lagged , so that explains him.

Yeah not really excited about that cast. Joanna Page was the worst part of Gavin & Stacy (although she supposedly did do a lot of the writing, so maybe she can be ok. Otoh has been in nothing good since then so I find the writing credit somewhat dubious). Ianucci is a legend, but so were Pemberton and Shearsmith, and they were pretty sporadic though Reece was great once he got into it, and benefited from very complimentary fellow contestants.

Kuwait has literally never been funny so I don't think he will suddenly start.

Never seen anything from the other two, so could be good, could be crap. Been on a roll for a while so I guess we are due a mediocre series.

Also anyone else see the New Year's treat(s)? Pretty mid, although they did have some highlights. Susie Dent was very disappointing, the guys sucked, although at least Zuu had a good sense of humor about how shit he was. The soccer chick at least put some effort in and was pretty ok. And Rose Ayling-Ellis was absolutely great. She'd probably be good enough for the normal show.

That's hilarious that I got autocorrected yo Kuwait and didn't notice not changing it.

Agree wholeheartedly with the bit about Rose A-E. I watched the limited series Reunion she was in, but she had so little to do and they dressed her so frumpily that I didn't even notice til I looked up her filmography.

I am looking forward to Armando Ianucci, I only know him as a write and director, is he a performer as well?

He was funny before wokeness took over comedy and he felt obligated to conform.

I was about to ask if he was one of those that adopts American ghetto culture and was likely to spend the whole series acting like a wannabe gangsta rapper, showing off tokens of wealth and power, and acting like the toughest of guys on a light entertainment comedy show. It seems we'll get something different, but equally awful; I don't need another Katherine Ryan, Mae Martin or CoC Sam Campbell/Maisie Adam.

You're probably thinking of Anziz Ansari. Kumail's comedy isn't like that.

Kumail came up in the podcast comedy circle, via Chris Hardwick and Jonah Ray. Since then, he's always been nerd-adjacent. I remember him on Harmontown and he presented well there. I got sick of him around the time Silicon Valley started. I don't remember exactly why. Likely, I found the combination of being foreign and insufferably political to be unbearable (would you believe that a guy from LA comedy circles is a pretentious psuedo-intellectual leftist???). I did laugh my ass off when he ruined his body with HGH for a failed Marvel project, though.

Taskmaster is good about editing around annoying people. They have their work cut out for them with Kumail.

Maybe I didn't express myself clearly enough. I understood that he isn't a ghettoid like Desiree Burch or Guz Khan, but instead another form of undesirable contestant: an annoying politisperg (who'll probably try to look "smart" by throwing Current Thing-laced barbs at anything that moves).

Have a lib friend who I introduced to TM, and even she doesn't wanna watch this series from first glance at the contestants, lol
Amy Gledhill is currently appearing on season 2 of Last One Laughing UK. The first three episodes dropped on the 19th, the final three episodes drop on the 26th.

She hasn’t said one funny thing yet. Why does UK telly give DEI slots to obese bipolar bitches?

EDIT: The folks making Last One Laughing clip compilations haven’t even bothered to make an Amy Gledhill video on YouTube. There’s a Diane Morgan part 1 (because she’s goddamned hysterical), but NOTHING from Amy.

I am certain that Amy is gonna stink up Taskmaster as hard as Fatty-ah The Candy Chew Listener.
