I don't think he's Carlos either. The images he uses for Carlos were posted by Carlos (and then mocked) with no new art accompanying his garbage posting. This feels like a meme someone is desperate to force riding the coattails of the simply good content Tamers puts out. I feel bad even bringing him up in the Tamers thread at all.

Tamers builds side characters over the course of an episode for comedic purposes. I will now harness all of my autism to try and explain what this means.

The character who spanks the child (the hiking guide) starts off as a seemingly normal and mundane character but, like with a lot of side characters who transition into episodic antagonists, he begins display more and more unlikable qualities. First: he has a short fuse with innocuous questions, getting irate when they're asked (despite being a guide.) We'll call this strike one. Then he begins to show questionable interest in a random child, who he clearly plans to victimize. This is strike two. He then changes the sign on the hiking trail to get the main cast (who he dislikes due to their questions) lost, which would basically guarantee they get lost and die. This is strike three.

Nothing about this tour guide character is an endorsement of anything. He is a bunch of building miserable qualities that culminate in him being humiliated. You would have better luck suggesting Uncle Chuck is more of an "endorsement" of pedophiles, except Uncle Chuck is always rebuked and usually gets shit on (often literally.)

So how do you explain the spanking scene?

Well besides the payoff for the tour guide character planning to do it, as well as the comedic absurdity of it all, the pacing of the scene up to that point makes the child character (they don't have a name) overwhelmingly innocent and believable. If you just had a bunch of grown men spank a child, where the men clearly enjoy it and the child is being traumatized, then the vibe would be too rape-y. Tamers doesn't do that typical jewish writer thing where part of the joke is how cruel the scene is. He understands grotesque and outrageous things are funny, but he knows how to keep them funny. He makes things absurd to the point where you can't actually take it seriously.

So Tamers does the same thing as the above (the building I mention) by having the child character make the same silly face the adults are, implying he's into it despite how absurd that would be. The same child character then later mentions he uses his own shit to leave trails back to civilization. Then finally the child character not only openly endorses murder but bites off the finger of the guy who spanked him. It's the same comedic process Tamers did with the tour guide, except this random child is the hero of the story as he saves everyone.

Undeniably Tamers has some bizarre kinks and when he wants to convey them he veers into a blatant S&M thing. But the tour guide scene in question doesn't have the hallmarks of when Tamers actually wants to make the audience more than merely uncomfortable. I'd post an example from one of his videos actually doing that, but this forum turns into a bunch of pearl-clutching old ladies when it comes to certain topics.

Never understood why this guy's stuff got so much praise. People really talk it up but 'so bad it's good' only works if it was made in sincerity. This feels like it's trying too hard to be so bad it's good.

I'm just wondering if his mom actually watches his videos and likes them. He mentioned that in a comment once. That's the biggest stretch of this whole charade unless she's very supportive.

There was a vlog once where he yells at his mom for not holding the camera straight or something while he was recording, which implies she's the camera man for his live action videos and he had another where he beat minecraft with her and their names were "Tamers12345" and "Bardonic" so I would imagine she's supportive of him

Tamers kayfabe is he lives with her. She and the Queen Aleena character have a lot in common, such as not only being unable to buy the right gifts around Christmas but also being too poor for proper gift wrap, instead using paper bags with the word "gift" written onto them.

He's got one of the best work ethics I've ever seen on the Internet. The sheer amount of work he must put into making his videos should be impressive by itself considering how quickly they come out.

It's actually quite simple. Both Lightbringer and Sonichu are dogshit with nonsensical plots and copyrighted concepts used by their authors to live power fantasies. They are only enjoyable on the context of making fun of their creators or otherwise get a pick into their minds.

Tamers' body of work is more similar to TGT imo. A part of the appeal is that superficially they should be in the same boat as lolcow material, but the creators (perhaps guided by their own autism) use their work for something greater than just elevating themselves. There's a certain self-awareness that doesn't spoil that original enjoyment, and perhaps most importantly, both were created by people aren't trying to be taken seriously.

Tamers appears very little on his own show compared to the early days when every single character but Bartleby worshiped him as the God he is, now he is just a cameo reserved for times when he can't think of a way to end the story. He has had his trolls and owned every single one of them. But also his humour and the basis for his work is almost repellent to low effort trolls, thus attracts a very specific fanbase that has curated itself. Tamers is one of the greatest kept secrets of the modern Internet and it has to remain that way.
