This is besides the point, but Takashi missed a pretty obvious point from OP:

"* the more associated something is with young/fem-leaning/queer/nonwhite ppl, the more the above will be true. "

Yeah, and guess who tends to be victimized in the SU fandom more than anybody else? Young, queer and often non-white girls.

I mean, shit, that'd make SU the worst ever, right? Because Joss Whedon and the So Sorry guy and the actors from Supernatural are a bunch of males and most (if not all) of them are white. But the SU fandom has harassed girls, who are the most vulnerable of anybody! They're the biggest shitlords!

C'mon, Takashi. If you weren't so busy trying to cover your, erm, "plot," you could be coming up with some sick burns, bro.

All those chucklefucks completely forgot the Star Wars fandom, which is the most malest and whitest fandom you can think of, and it's had plenty of instances of its fandom acting like gigantic sperglords and assholes over the years.

That aspect being lost on the OP doesn't surprise me. No fandom ever wants to acknowledge the abuse and fuckery that goes on inside it, because they always want to come off as looking better than the current punching bag. The SU fandom was so obsessed with trying not to be like Bronies, they became exactly the thing they wailed, railed, and whined against and then some. And while I think Takashi does occasionally make a few good points about the SU fandom (save for his raging boner for Zamii and co-opting that traumatic period of her life for his own crusade), he's so blind to the shit that went on and still goes on in the MLP fandom, it negates pretty much everything he's ever said on the subject of fandom.

so basically, Rob has disowned the more extreme parts of the brony fandom by saying that they don't identify with the fandom.

I am extremely doubtful if that is even true.

That's because they're not TRUE AND HONEST Bronies!

Ah yes, the favorite "Not Real X" argument that is usually thrown about by Rob and his ilk when it comes to feminists.

Yeah. Apparently the people behind a rape group on FIMFiction.net (a huge brony fanfic website) aren't real bronies, despite most of them owning brony apparel. Apparently, by his own logic, he himself isn't a brony for telling a Jew that basically anti-semetism does not exist because bronies.

I wonder if he does anything in life aside from being on the computer and sperging about the MLP fandom being so "pure and innocent" (and watching both MLP and SU)

I really want to know why Taka and all those other spergs think arguing about which fandom is the worst on tumblr dot com is a good way to spend their time

Haven't they realized by now that when people spend every waking minute obsessing over a tv show or movie online instead of interacting with other humans, it's bound to take a toll on their common sense and on what they think is appropriate, rational behavior?

To be fair, in that image, I think he's referring to the people that went after the "Ask Princess Molestia" blog, and those people (including a few cows that have their own threads here, like Dragondicks) are decidedly against bronies.

That said, I think what can be taken away from all of this is that 99% of fandoms are shit, without exception. There is no escaping shit in fandoms--it is always there.

I think the best part of all of this, for me at least, is that just everyone in general honestly believes that if they scream into the Tumblr void loud and long enough that they'll "do some good".

Honestly no. Every angle, every "side" of every single opinion/issue/concept/movement on Tumblr are stubborn assholes who refuse to listen to anyone but their own asspatters. For example, when Rob's blog was deleted for a while people went apeshit about it on both sides. One celebrating the other mourning him and comparing his deletion to actually being "murdered by the sjws".

edit (forgot this part): No one was stopping him from just making a new account like literally everyone else there does. And in the midst of all the "oh poor Rob's blog is gone!" mess, people with legit complaints on either side were ignored because "muh feels! this is fascism! this is murder!"

That said, I think what can be taken away from all of this is that 99% of fandoms are shit, without exception. There is no escaping shit in fandoms--it is always there.
They're not bronies, true. But they were MLP fans, and thus still technically part of the fandom itself whether Rob likes it or not. One of those "all bronies are mlp fans. not all mlp fans are bronies" situations. So what if they didn't want ot be part of the sub-group of the overall fandom

Also, 99% of Tumblr is shit, fandoms or no fandoms.

tumblr amplifies the shit 10x worse than it actually is

That's because there's no filtering or group system like in the days of LiveJournal and its myriad of knock-offs, so a lot of the stuff that used to be sequestered from everything else is all out there, in the open, and intermixed with everything else. I bet you more than anything else that if the LJ model stuck around (i.e. filters, friends lists, groups/communities), we probably wouldn't be hearing about at least 75% of the people and groups in this subforum. Takashi included.

I really want to know why Taka and all those other spergs think arguing about which fandom is the worst on tumblr dot com is a good way to spend their time

Something something filling a void in their lives.

A lot of bronies are really insecure about the fact they like the show, from what I've seen. And, since spergs are incapable of just liking something (they have to be totally obsessed with it and tie up a lot of their identity with it) they view mockery of their show of choice or the fanbase to be a really personal attack.

I think that applies to pretty much any fandom, interest, or affiliation that has any place on social media these days, because it can get hyper-saturated with others' opinions, and people that feel validated by those opinions. I think more than a few tumblr kids are probably social outcasts, and are living vicariously through fictional characters. It would make sense that they'd become so irrationally protective of what they've made a larger part of their lives than it should be.

They're nerds, basically.

It all boils down to everybody involved being fucking nerds.

Fandoms on Tumblr are often so toxic due to the fact that Tumblrina's exploit the piece of media to voice their hivemind views. If you like/do something outside of that Hivemind, you're witch hunted and bullied until you fit into the criteria of what Tumblr expects fans to be.

Since Steven Universe is, for lack of a better term, progressive. Tumblrina's find it easier to use it to voice their own views. They voice the fact that the show 'understand their snowflake idenity uwu' and will attack anyone if they take that away from them. They fail to understand that the show isn't perfect and will throw threats at anyone if those imperfections come to light.

But what Rob and Friends fail to understand is that they're beating a dead horse. Everyone knows that Tumblr Fandoms are toxic and you should avoid them at all costs. They linger on the Zamii and Zuke incidents because they themselves display a similar hivemind to the ones that the Tumblrinas have. Unlike the Tumblrites who put down others to feel more secure about their Snowflake Idenity, they put down other fandoms to make them feel better about their own fandom choices.

@Skipjack who is the-nepshack or whatever?

kyuutii-hanii's latest url.

She changes her url so many fucking times it's unreal, usually focused on whatever her latest fandom obsession is.

When she first got big, she was critical-feminist-black-lady (as in the evil grown-up version of Chibiusa from Sailor Moon), then she was critical-feminist-bayonetta, then she was rainbow-mika-for-equality, then she was usagi-for-real-justice or something like that, then abandoned that for yourwaifuisagr-mlin, then she was kyuuti-haii after Cutey Honey, now she's its-the-nepshack (as in Neptunia mixed with The Nutshack)

She's halfway between a Moralist and a Shitposter - half the time, she asks doomybot about orca dicks and makes fun of the alt-right, but the other times...

you are a genital.PNG

...

Tag yourself I'm "a genital"

Hey Takashi, remember the pikapetey incident? Must not be a real brony, even though he's animating for brony cons, not a real brony because that would ruin his narrative.
Face it, all fandoms are shitty always.

Good god...........what gets me about that is the way Rob just completely ignored the better criticism made against the bullshit-shielding attempt by SU Spergerina 1 and 2 to once again sperg-night the Brony fandom, when they're just as guilty of this behavior as the Spergerinas.

He treats his fandom almost the exact same way SJW's treat "oppressed" victims; like defenseless babies who need protection from the big bad world at all cost.

The only reason ponyboy complains about the SU fandom so much is because mostly of the drama is becase of SJW reasons. The SU fandom is bad, sure but so are mostly of fandoms, especially shippers. I recently heard some Bleach shippers who got butthurt about the ending took nudes of others and posed them on porn sites, this is a pretty shitty thing to do but Taka ignores that kind of harrasment because it has nothing to do with social justice and so it doesn't fit his anti sjw agenda.

Is that why you tell women who are critical of gender roles and expectations to eat glass and insert yourself needlessly into drama like an attention whore? Especially when you have back peddled and acted like a hapless victim while making fun of other people for getting doxxed? And think 'acephobia' is real? And defend ddlg?
