I'm still wondering why takashi is still a brony, i thought bronies died out like the dinosaurs, it's also really annoying on how they take children's cartoons so seriously, and they act liek the brony fandom is actually good when it's not..
 
He doesn't post anything about the show and probably doesn't watch it anymore but somewhat still feels the need to protect Bronies' honor.

Being his friend and enabling him are two different things.

Had to do that with one of my friends. Turned into an asshole through misanthropy. Didn't realize he was an asshole until shown all the evidence of it.

So you should be clear, if you haven't done so yet. He's not going to learn anything if nobody tells him. And if he can't accept your criticism, well, what kind of person is he then?

from what little i have been able to find out: he actually is a middle class white mail who's parents are devout christians (he is also christian, but i'm not sure how devout he is about it.)

Consider this: he's currently 23/24. Which would have put him at what, 19/20 when he joined Tumblr and immediately jumped into the social justice fight. Still fresh out of high school man. That age, everyone honestly thinks they know everything and are having to acutally deal with who they are as people sine there's no more high school clique. Starving for attention and ready to join whatever group is "cool". Or, alternatively ready to join whatever group is seen as being a rebel. in this case, SJWs were the popular kids. He decided to be a "rebel". The more people fought him, the worse it got until now we have this manbaby inflation fetish pony fapper.

Hope he grows up, but it's not likely to be any time soon.

Well...I still have to say that I've never seen any fandom raise as much for charity as bronies. By the middle of the first season, they were already doing one...I don't remember what it's called, but it continued for years after. Seeds of Hope? Something like that. You do have to give them credit for giving of themselves, because they actually have donated tens of thousands of dollars to charities for everything from breast cancer research to childrens' hospitals and repairing schools in...Uganda, I think? No one told them to do it, and it started long before the backlash against them. Just sayin'.

So has the furry fandom but you don't see them constantly touting such things as achievements or proof that their fandom isn't garbage.
 
It's still hilarious bronies and furries actually do charity while tumblrinas who parrot social justice 24/7 don't ever contribute for anything besides yelling at each other. "Practice what you preach" step 1 failed.

Furries weren't specifically targeted by self-righteous nitwits who claim to be activists while not donating a single red cent to anything but dying their hair pink and buying "male tears" mugs. Just sayin'.

There's much overlap between the furries and Bronies/Pegasisters groups. And after the hell I've just crawled through on fetlife for an unrelated thread - lemme tell you there's far more overlap than EITHER group will ever admit to.

Oh, I'm plenty aware of that. Even a good chunk of the tumblrinas that decided to wage war on bronies are also furries, which just makes the furries vs. bronies tihng even dumber. I don't know how it goes in the furry community, but bronies hadn't said anything about their charity work until people started attacking them. My bringing it up wasn't an attempt to exonerate anyone, but to point out that you can paint people as many colors as you want, but it's still pretty douchey to just ignore the things they accomplished out of genuine altruism--same goes for furries. Some may seem weird and creepy and do things that make others cringe, but at least they're also using their community to do some good in the world.

Like, I laughed at Rebecca Black along with everyone else, but I'm not gonna fault her after learning that she donated most of what she made off of that godawful song to charity.

I'm just sayin that don't let anyone in the fandom convince you they are actually in an oppressed minority for being in a fandom. Bad shit happens to everyone.
