So, I've recently been rewatching Gundam Wing and a friend of mine IRL recommended a new RPG system for me.

It's called Battle Century G and it's a Mecha-themed RPG. I downloaded the PDF of the SRD from here, which is free and legal (you have to pay for the full book and its setting, but the SRD is free)

I like what I have read so far and I am thinking it could be a good system not only for a Mecha campaign, but for Military Sci-Fi in general.

I've kind of been wanting to run a Military Sci-Fi game recently.

any better than Mekton zeta?

I have G and Z if you want to check out the actual books.

I thonk it would make for a good 1v1 tabletop game. It tries for a cinematic feel.

I am getting ready to actually attempt to run my first campaign where the idea is that the party is a typical dungeon delvers with the real highlight being that they will be doing heists. Does anyone have any ideas how I could best start this as starting these damn things are always tough

Are they going to be villains or stay the good guys? If good they could be doing missions for someone gathering up major items to resurrect some evil and the PC's don't know, they just think they're doing this because they're good, their employer is on the up and up so seems legit and any lore they find points to the person being correct.

This is more of a neutral themed string of heists as the idea is that this thieves guild or contact they work with loves to make and show the kingdom as being inept, which it is as this is a time in a great kingdom or empire where insane levels of bureaucracy and Byzantine style politics makes it near impossible to get shit done properly. Along the way the two main rivals are going to be whatever the Kingdom's elite investigation unit is along with a rival guild.

I usually prefer to set up scenarios where the PCs don't have to be heroic per say, but where their thievery could be justified as perhaps a lawful person could see this as a way to finally bring the kingdom to true reform

Hmm, maybe check out some Lupin, or Jing King of Bandits.

My players are about to beat Rise of The Runelords (Pathfinder) at level 18. FFirst game I've gmed. We've been playin for about a year now.
The group consists of Aspex, Lawful Neutral Lore Warden who hates his home country's ruling government, plans to take over Varisia (Varisia is mostly just forest and a few city states here and there) and become a major world power.
Yoshikage Kira is a weirdo Human fishermen alchemist who used bombs to fish. He also is a serial killer.
And Sweet Boy, A CG Aasimar Cleric of Calistria, goddess of lust, who lost his memory and seeks retribution upon those who caused his amnesia.

Why would they want to take over a country full of Gypies? Serial Killer as in the archtype? Or just a killer?

Onyx Path has become a cesspit ever since Paradox bought out White Wolf.

There, I said it.

On a more positive note, remember when I said it would be cool to see a crossover of Saints Row and World of Darkness?

Well, I was working on that campaign idea and came up with something better.

An old-school Classic World of Darkness game that is a crossover with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and the reason why I think it would be better is because for one thing, the State of San Andreas is a much better and more detailed setting than Stilwater, and because of the sheer amount of myths and urban legends surrounding that game. Stuff like Bigfoot, Leatherface, and UFO's just to name a few off the top of my head.

Seriously, GTA: San Andreas was like a magnet for weird rumors and urban legends for some reason, and if I were to do a crossover with World of Darkness, I'd incorporate a lot of those weird myths.

I'd set it in 1992, just like the game itself was, and I would use the old First Edition styles and setting assumptions such as not using the metaplot (1E had no metaplot), Elders vs. Neonates being the main conflict, everything is a lot more mysterious and less defined, and the World of Darkness is more closely tied to the real world.

Not sure if I should use the authentic 1E rules for Vampire: The Masquerade or use V20 and just limit players to the core seven clans (Brujah, Gangrel, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, Ventrue) but either way, I think a crossover of old-school VTM and GTA: San Andreas could work very well if done right.

So, I've seen bits of pieces of pen-and-paper/tabletop games, and I'm interested in learning more about them. I just don't know where I need to start. Could, uh... could someone point me in the right direction? I have no idea how to get into this sort of thing.

Depends, what kind of genre are you the most interested in?

Don't really have a preference, but fantasy usually seems pretty simple to get into (unless it's fucking Warhammer [sweating.jpg]), so maybe that.
I have a Discord server where me and some Farms members run games, if you're interested in listening in or learning a bit. I know that @Rumpled Foreskin runs a D&D game on Wednesdays, but I don't know if there's an open slot or not.

Feel free to DM me if you wanna talk about joining or listening in or just talking about tabletop.

I will admit, this game has some neat ideas, but the whole idea of your labels being the first thing about you in the main adventure (and the people in the video involved) lives and "ehhhhh" taste in my stomach.

I'm inclined to agree with you on this in its entirety. As far I know, I'm pretty sure that "Cyber-Dyke" does not qualify as a gender.

On an unrelated note, I am writing down some more ideas for my Vampire: The Masquerade/Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas crossover and thinking of potential plot hooks for when the campaign progresses, as the early stages of the game will be very decentralized and player-driven.

Also, has anyone ever played Senshi: The Merchandising? It's a Classic World of Darkness fan game from the late 1990's/early 2000's that puts Sailor Moon, Magic Knight Rayearth, Cardcaptors, and a whole bunch of other 90's anime into the World of Darkness setting.

The more popular and widely-known fan game Princess: The Hopeful (for the New World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness) was originally intended as a more serious re-imagining of Senshi.

Senshi is a very tongue-in-cheek game and is intended to be a parody, but the rules are fairly functional and as lame as this may sound, I enjoy it so much that I consider it part of my personal World of Darkness head-canon.

Here are the rules for Senshi (it is assumed the reader is already familiar with World of Darkness)
