I'm expecting some apologies.
Hell, I am surprised that they aren't sucking the girl dick right now. As someone who pays attention a lot to this shit, I've noticed that the only people who complain about TTRPG being "problematic" and needing to change to be more "inclusive" and "represent the real world" are smug soyboys and AGP trannies. I don't why they do this. Maybe to lure more women into the hobby is my guess. Problem is that a woman can spot a disingenuous predator from a mile away. Not that hard.

The changes are utterly retarded and just another blow in the race to reduce everything into a grey, morally ambiguous, and thematically bland sludge. The critical role fags will eat this up and give some good asspats on twitter, which we all know is the true currency. They'll release the updated editions and those will sell just as well and anyone who complains about how there are giant jagged chainsaw holes in the drywall of D&D will be called a chud and ignored.
Morally ambiguous can work, but like any paint, you slop it on that broad and the result is shit.

Oh, and the actual chuds will just get more and more ammo from it and overcorrect even worse than they have been. That nutsack Venger Satanis will start multiplying...

No just Wizards but Paizo too:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=-OsVu9S0ENoAfter the complaint of one AGP tranny they decided to get rid of slavery to... uh... fight slavery. Never mind that there is slavery still going on in the world, like Libya, but who cares about that? How dare slavery be in my Mary Sue OC maker! Get rid of it or else!
Archcast being another nutsack that's only going to get more empowered by this garbage. Good thing I never got into Pathfinder at least, so I got no history with it to sully.

Well, Wizards of the Coast just decided to nuke all the problematic lore from orbit.

Most of these expurgations aren't being replaced, either. Commentary I'm seeing is that it guts the Volo's Guide to Monsters rulebook. It also completely retcons the drow, and neatly fucks over the poster boy for 'misunderstood token good member of an evil race', Drizzt the drow ranger.

I mean, wow. Just fucking wow. Even if you detest R.A. Salvatore and Drizzt, that's pretty stunning.

Also, it seems terrible things like slavery, ransoms, paranoia/xenophobia, and cannibalism are now verboten traits in monsters. Mind you, not PCs; monsters.

Jesus fuckin' Christ.
Lol dont care, my goblins are still devil worshipping baby eaters and my drow will remain slave traders. I dont get whats the deal behind these PC motiveted changes, I guess its just a side effect of pozz retardation.

I mean, if you're offended by evil races or have players that will flip the fuck out at orcs being bad guys, then just change it. Make your world prog-land with free gender reassignment surgeries and validation wizards and whatnot, no one will give a shit or try to stop you, the DM has the power to do whatever the fuck he wants.

I might be able to shed some light on this as I live a Sunday's drive from both WotC and Paizo headquarters. A lot of their new employees in the past few years are either:
1. AGP trannies
2. Graduates from the Evergreen State College. Yeah, that Evergreen College.
3. AGP trannies from the Evergreen State College.
These are people who believe that all entertainment must be a tool for whatever political activism that is the favor of the month. These people also never were friends with or interacted with people who have different political views than them. These are the type of people who would cut people out of their life if they have a mild political disagreement with them.
Another reason (and probably the main reason) why they are doing this retardation is because of ESG, or Environmental, Social, Corporate Governance, Scores. The more "Diverse" and "Inclusive" your product and company are the higher your ESG Score will be which tells investors, specifically Blackrock and The World Economic Forum, that you are a good company to invest in. If you want to know why there is so much Woke shit in products and entertainment now it is because of ESG Scores. Remember, they don't give a shit about us, the paying customer. They care more about investors and making themselves appear investor friendly to investors like Blackrock and the WEF. Funny story, Disney has a high ESG Score and is considered one of the most investor friendly companies in the world while Tesla has a low ESG Score and considered one of the worst companies to invest in. LMAO!

So I've always wondered how in this new lore you get into your respective afterlife now. I haven't really played since 3.5 and have just now started getting back in during 5e. But from my possibly outdated understanding of Forgotten Realms lore, is every god and every plane had an alignment. So with gigantic overarching removals of alignment for all player races, and what seems to be soon, FR as a whole, how do you even worship gods or get into planes or afterlives?

I keep reading from all these pozzed retard redditors and the like that the alignment chart is in the trash because "alignment is subjective" but the problem with that is, how can it be subjective if the gods you worship and the planes they correspond with actually exist? And its not like Christian God on earth where nobody is sure, people have been to and from these planes and have in some cases met and even fucked these gods. There are proof they exist, people draw power from them, they create entire races ect.

Everything about this new lore is so mind bendingly stupid its giving me a brain aneurysm.

And this is why trying to pretend evil and good don't exist in setting is retarded.

I'm actually reminded of a CN/CE cult and religion I came up with based on Discordianism whose whole schtick was trying to prove alignment was a spook since it's all just grids of behavior that try to deny chaos is all. Their efforts didn't really pan out because holy shit the gods exist and there is good and evil as well as law and chaos, and while beloved for a time by academics, they got rightfully banned when they tried to argue against the rule of kings and state. Well that and instituting decadent riots.

Can you be the DM for real life? Please?

I'm sure lord asmodeus and demigorgon are deeply appreciative of such an enlightened perspective on morality.....afterall whats wrong with the occasional atrocity as long as its in the name of higher causes?

This is slightly offtopic but the recent wotc drama made check /tg/ again after years of not touching the board and It feels like the average poster is a lot more insuferable now, guess those le epic greentexts being passed around reddit and youtube did a number on the board

If WoTC and Paizo intentions were to make more people go to homebrew or OSR I must say that they are doing a damn fine job of it. They don't have to worry about losing money from losing players either as the WEF and Blackrock will be there to give them more money then what fans will ever give them so long as they continue to promote "The Message". Sounds like a win.

All of these new friendly cultural updates make me want to run a game and just apply all of them to the highest degree. What would a party actually do when the world is so vulnerable and easy to insult and upset? I feel like it would turn into an evil game without me ever having to say a word.

Spite towards NPCs is highly underrated as player motivation.

I wonder if Paizo knew the errata for 5th edition was coming this week to announce the slavery retcon. They'd know the 5th edition changes would cause more uproar because of the popularity of Dungeons and Dragons over Pathfinder.

I didn't even think about the slavery retcon, that's perfect to add to the drow. Of course slavery in the underground hard to access drow strongholds doesn't exist. In fact it never existed and all records of it have either been destroyed by incompetent and mysteriously dead administrators of the surface kingdoms, or have been outright destroyed as to not propagate further systemic discrimination against drow refugees.

Of course that's not something I would just blurt out during game, more like something carefully hidden and only uncovered if the party cared, but it would be there.

Going to pencil that in to my next campaign actually...

Oy vey! Shut it down! Shut it down! Can't have that go against the narrative goyim.

Run with it. Drow strongholds are now based off of North Korea.
A little bit, they get a Charisma bonus right? Who says they couldn't start bleeding into places and manipulating things? Especially if they can bring things that can only be found in the underdark and the nobility doesn't ask questions about it. Hell just google drow and look at the image results, what do you see?

Picture upon picture of stunning perfect elves standing heroically, scroll down enough and you see weird fetish shit. Finding an ugly drow would be a challenge and even then one could just blame the artist for not being good at their job.

Maybe the initial idea was that they were these wantonly cruel beings that destroyed everything they say but what a waste that would be when they could just show up and start systematically taking over. Sure the church of Pelor or whatever good sun god would warn against it but that would only harm their cause. These beautiful people harmed by the ravages of beholders and mind flayer and so called "heroes" venturing down should be received warmly. Maybe even marry into every noble house. Never mind that they live for hundreds of years either.

This gives something for the regular elves to flip out about too. All of a sudden they're confonted with humans siding with their evil other half and have to navigate it carefully. Maybe an adventure revolves around a murder and the cultrate is a lawful good elf who very much knows TWU.

I don't even want to compare it to some kind of real world racial conspiracy shit, I think that a group of chaotic evil evils write their own conspiracies just fine. My point is that the game is that adaptable where even in the attempts to remove any kind of mention of slavery can foster an idea that could make for an insidious long term plot from the underdark. You could apply the same to beholders, where the drow say "oh yeah, as long as you tell them they're great they won't see treasure on you and turn you to dust, trust me lol".

Edit: I see I typed elves as evils. Think I'll leave it.
