We want more love for Greyhawk, the players cried. We want a setting update.

Another finger on the Monkey's Paw curled closed.
I keep reminding people who keep squawking for Star Wars EU to be recanonized and new content created that said new content would be made by the horsepiss swigging dangerhairs who ruined everything else. you should be praying Corpohomo forgets about anything you like.

I'm not the most versed or I'm misremembering but is Rogue One a fuck you to Kyle Katarn?

The genocidal human supremacists, the scarlet brotherhood got renamed scarlet order in 6E because they now believe in pronouns and gender equality. WOTC unironically made the big bad in Greyhawk fantasy globalhomo.
He’s not enthusiastic about it. When he commented that WotC was taking up Greyhawk again, he played the funeral dirge in the background.

are they implying the villains also includes females and troons now? isn't that sexist and transphobic?

more or less, but I assume the whole "grey jedi" thing was also a factor to just drop it and have a brunette female with a british accent doing it. I'm less aggro about RO tbh than some other shit.
it could also make people notice where jarjar copied finn's backstory from...

New "X without number" series just dropped on Kickstarter.

I'm extremely hyped. This guy has my favorite system design for fantasy and his world-building tools are fun to use. Trying to decide if I'm willing to drop 80 bucks for the fancy offset version or just go for the PoD. I kinda regret not getting the hardback copies of the other books.
My advice on that is think about how much of your gaming budget $80 is, and how full your shelf it, because it doesn't look like any sort of risk. Dude's put out books before, so the book will come out, he's not over promising with pledge/stretch goals. $80 is on the higher side, but its not out of line if you like what you're buying.

This is becoming common. Along with racist villains who don’t say anything racist. Hazbin hotel is supposed to be empowering for the LGBT community, yet the show confirms the LGBT go to hell. The only non-toxic relationship in Helluva aboss is with the only heterosexual woman in the cast.

For him. It’s his favorite setting coming out as gay. Or Goku finding out Gohan don’t like martial arts.

What's that line? "Let the past go. Kill it, if you have to." or something to that extent.
Basically, it completely retcons his involvement in getting the Death Star plans at a minimum.
Its a real shame but Cal Kestis seems to be stepping into those boots of Total Imperial Death pretty well, IMO. All he's missing is some of the higher-end force powers since as things go with his story its just a matter of time until someone who has it coming gets blasted by lightning or force choked to death.

Let me pour one out for my homeboy Rick the Door Technician, though. Loyal to the New Order and Palpatine to the very end.

I'm just surprised they didn't just start with the Magic the Gathering settings given their push to try and merge everything into being demiplanes of Faerun or whatever the hell they're trying to pull. Or to do even more Faerun to hold onto the rights.

I guess they really want to bury and graffiti completely over TSR's stuff. I expect the scouring of Birthright and Dark Sun soon with this in mind. Malevolent retards indeed.

Cal's games are about the only decent thing to come out of the nu-canon at all and I hope against all fuck that the third game is as solid as the second and doesn't shit the bed. Let me boy impregnate his goth waifu and live on Tanalor, sequestered away from the rest of Disney's bullshit. Seems like that's a slim reality though because he is a white male in the modern SW universe.

He's somehow managed to survive despite being not just a white male, but a ginger white male. I guess Respawn must be raking in the dosh for both EA and Disney with those games.

According to interviews during the first game's development many members of the team were pushing for a 'less conventional' protagonist but were rebuffed by management.

There has already been some attempts at sabotage, like with the tie-in novel that made Merrin gay but was largely ignored for the sequel, so I hope they can make it through the third game without ruining it.

I am sure regardless they will give him some kind of pathetic end in a bad novel or TV show after the final game is finished but if the third game is solid enough I will just comfortably pretend whatever happens after doesn't exist.

I think they toyed with that idea but WOTC stopped giving a shit about MTG's original setting a long time ago. MTG can't even stand on its own anymore. Everything is a gay media tie in.

Birthright is edgier and more problematic for WOTC than even Dark Sun. Incest, religious wars, eugenics and Colonialism. Not to mention Birthright, a war gaming throwback for Dungeons and Dragons. A big no no for 5E fans. 5E players hate war gaming. The only way WOTC brings back Birthright is that Hasbro still wants to crash in on Game of Thrones. Something they would've done 10 years ago. But they know 5E players hate war gaming and traditional board games in general.

Oh that's a simple mangling; you just absolutely remove the wargaming, absolutely buttfuck the lore so that the evil lineages aren't evil but instead gay or whatever and merely misunderstood, and then write shitty goofy stories about noblemen schools or some shit using the flesh of old works to hide it. Plus that way it makes the chuds cry and makes another TSR setting truly yours. Oh, and also make it another demiplane so you can just borrow the stuff you like and wear as a skinsuit. Don't forget that. Then fire all your human shields and underpaid fiver hires.

Either that or they'll hire third or fourth gen middle easterners to content police and mutilate the 1,001 Nights inspired setting from the same era. You know, so they can use the assets and "correct" the record. Then fire them too.

Both Al-Qadim and Khinasi in BR works fine as a orientalist setting. neither is too deep into the shit or directly inspired from a singular culture( more true for Al-Qadim then Khinasi). But they will destroy them.
BR actually has great potential as a setting. we never actually have dwarf kingdoms at their full size. There are only 4 dwarf kingdoms on the surface but Dwarves are actually underworld creatures so we have a comepletly undiscovered underworld in the setting.
We have a shattered empire that had colonies in different continents. Some of those colonies were ruled by the blood of the emperor, there is a potential on those colonies or leaders that might come to invade the old realm.
There are 3 continents humans came from, Cerillia had no humans. Khinasi came from east others came from south. Southern continent was l,v,ng ,n an age of darkness where they gave themselves into horrible shit.
Azrai, dead god of darkness was originally a god of magic. Voryyn was also a god of magic but both gods were already had devoted humans to them, but humans started doing true magic after those gods died, so what is the connection of magic and humans overall?
The setting had great potential.

Are you FUCKING kidding me?

Exactly. Look at all these remakes, remasters, reimaginings, they're all the same thing. Sociopaths puppeteering the corpses of your beloved anything for profit and propaganda. While people who never cared to it praise this corpse dressed as something "new" and demonize anyone who says otherwise.

I don't try to keep up on Disney's retarded canon, because they have said repeatly fuck you we will toss asside any previous media that prevents us from injecting more CURRENT YEAR politics to escapist fantasy, but I think the last time I saw they had said that Katarn's adventures with his hot azn qt pilot gf were a secondary backup action to get the plans and ultimately not needed.
