As far as vidya go, did SM2 flop? I enjoyed the campaign for what it was and I think I fired it up for a couple runs a month or two ago and techmarine was pretty good. But I was under the impression that it sold extremely well for its niche to the point where they greenlit 3 really fucking quick, same with Rogue Trader and its DLC. I think DarkTide and DoW3 were the only really big recent flops
I don't even think DarkTide flopped so much as it was another entry into an already crowded Genre that didn't bring anything new to the table other than "FOUR TEE KAY!" and the grind meta was unreal, so it just didn't have any sticking power.
Both sm2 and dt are generally considered successes, sure sm2 has certainly significantly less players now, but darktide is usually more active.
It was wildly successful, selling 12 milion copies as of April this year. So roughly 700 milion dollars on a budget of under a hundred milion ("half of doom eternal").
Chud Warhammer fans hate 40k but they'll never ever ever look into sci-fi books, games or settings that aren't Warhammer. If they do, then they won't stfu about Warhammer as was the case with Avatar 3 and Rebel Moon. They're totally buckbroken paypigs and should be reviled.
Oh it gets better. Nellop only got into the hobby in 8th edition. The start of nu40k. He has no experience with any of the prior 40k editions. If only he put his passion for the “glory days” of Warhammer into something positive. There are redditors designing lore for the Nova Terra Interregnum (on r/35k) and armies using the 3rd-5th edition rules. Nellop is worse than redditors.

Either way you will find that many "chuds" (trust me, I know after running horusgalaxy) tend to be unironic kulture warriors who like their "woke" counterparts only ever interacted with warhammer through the video games. Despite this and their lack of minis, they will constantly preach about the "good old days" of warhammer (despite never being apart of it) and their greatest contribution to the hobby will be bitching on a xitter or reddit thread. 40K fags are the Potterheads of the right wing. They are obsessed with a franchise for British children. They have to consume it even while hating the maker's guts. They could be trying anything else, but that wouldn't be My Brand, and when they have to try anything else, they need to piss My Brand all over the corner, to keep My Brand on their minds. And of course, their commitment to never reading another book is so deep that they have completely replaced any meaningful or useful philosophy with its copywritten shibboleths, loudly announcing to everyone else that this real world issue is a great opportunity to LARP as the main characters of a British children's book.
As ridiculous as what you've said is(and I'm a 40k fan and player), you're not wrong about the idiots constantly whining about it. The one thing I would add to what you've said, is that you also have to remember the grifters exist. They may be secondaries(Arch), old players that eventually decided to hate everything about it(Gamza), or even people who never gave a shit about it at all(Vara Dark, Quartering, Yellowflash, etc.) but these shitters actually give the dumbfucks that can't get over it "hope" about... something that if they keep complaining GW will suddenly become some amazing right wing bastion of tabletop gaming. The reason these grifters need to be differentiated is because they're motivated by money, rather than just cope due to the culture war financial ecosystem.
The best part is that one can enjoy warhammer without goy workshops. You can 3d print minis, you can pirate books/rules, you can use fan made rules ect ect. But no, even many supposed gw haters STILL choose to buy warhammer products and actively support the company they hate.
I'm still hunting for a reasonably priced Rogue Trader, just to try it.
