Didn't something like this already happen with the "You can D20 ANYTHING" craze?

Desperate Housewives D20, we forgot that one?

Also, if you want to do Rick and Morty so bad, there's always GURPS...

I sort of figured someone was going to bring this up

edit: Jesus christ they made another one. Putin please just press the button.

Thankfully you can ban retards who try to push those splats down your throat from the table, but still very cool. Keep proving why entertainment must be burned to the ground.

I really hate this new direction of D&D and MtG. I get it probably sells, but I'd rather franchises stay as their own thing and not watch everything into a blob of references like it's trending to now. Just make a new thing for those other franchises, you can still use the bulk of the systems from D&D or whatever.

It was two boxed tie-ins that were released four and five years ago and didn’t even total a full book. Like, this is not a huge thing, just a quick cash grab.

This on the other hand? I blame the critters for this. Spelljammer was the shortest lived, least supported setting for a reason. Even behind Birthright.

That specific box set might be old, but it's an ongoing problem with MtG and other Wizards products.

The guy actually makes some good points [shared home town, etc], but he's just too favor-grovelling (being really obsequious while also asking for a favor). He's laying out how little is needed, and logistic details - things that SHOULD be hammered out with Cavill's handlers, not used to try to guilt him into complying.
"Fellow Jersey Native Henry, I see you're into Warhammer 40K. Let's do a charity battle! We can talk about good times at the Little Shop and being from a tiny island while playing 40K. We'll play any edition you're familiar with,or teach you 9th. We're in london, so if you're interested we'll work out details!" - AKA we'll schedule shit with your assistant, and we'll grovel privately to them.
Also, even if you did meet him, you didn't have a meaningful enough encounter to remember his name. So he sure as shit doesn't remember yours (and if he did, it wouldn't be for a good reason) so stop trying to bring that up.

If you want to do these things and not be a faggot:
First way, would be to build your brand of "Famous People Charity Stream". Do a stream with local/small celebrities. You will demonstrate your ability to work with real talent and not be clout chasing annoying fanboy. Once you've got a few episodes in the bag, you should have contacts with publicists, and leverage those into getting Superman to boost your channel to the moon.

Second way would be to try to start a Charity tourny. Advertise it, get some buzz, and then as part of the publicity push challenge Cavill to something silly like a "God Emperor of Jersey" battle to determine who's the better player from Jersey.

Hell, reach out to GW and say "Hey fags, big channel here. I have a hertiage-in with Henry Cavill. Can you help me get Superman on my channel? Think of how many new paypigs you'll get."
And all that should be done outside of the public’s view. In private. Like adults. That’s how deals are done.

How? There are only three tie-ins that I’m aware of. Rick and Morty, MLP and Stranger things, all unsupported boxes and all released years ago. Actual D&D has been prioritized for the past three years, minimum. Whether you think it’s gone in the right direction or not…

....da fuq am I looking at?
....<See above>

Yea, I've done Alternate Earth campaigns with GURPS, I'll stick with that for that particular itch.

The only thing crazier than the video is the fountain of asspats in the comments. If you took a shot every time someone called this performative hysteria "brave" your liver would be dead by morning.

Stonemaier folded like a cheap suit, btw.

Quote from article:
In addition to our diverse oversight, proofreading, and playtesting team, we pay a cultural consultant, Kate Edwards of Geogrify, to review all our products for any unintended harm our games might cause to people of different cultures and backgrounds around the world, and when she noticed two conquistadors among the historical figures selected by Mihir and Francesco, she flagged the following concern for each of them, saying, “His conquest and his treatment of indigenous people has since cast him as more of a villain of history.” Her recommendation in its entirety was, “Be careful to not paint Cortes/Pizarro in too positive of light, as someone who brought wine grapes to the Western Hemisphere. If he did play an instrumental role, try to not emphasize his role too highly.” There was no recommendation to remove the conquistador characters, though in hindsight I should not have needed someone–even an expert–for me to realize this now-obvious solution.

I feel like playing Cthulhu wars tonight and particularly fucking with South America now. Maybe I'll play King in Yellow and extra desecrate the land...

I feel like designing a game called "Pizarro's Vineyards" where your goal is to spread wine, the Word of Christ, and righteous death to the Aztec savages.

The crying. The crying. There's no way it's real, or if it is, this woman's issue is mental illness, not a fucking board game and a couple of Spaniards who've been dead for centuries.

I personally think it's the sheer fragility of someone who's grown up in a society that attempts to stifle or shut down anything that might make people uncomfortable or challenge their worldview, and then teaches those people that throwing a tantrum is the best way to resolve their problems.

Honestly, the whole review smells of "we're making a huge screaming deal about this because it'll get clicks and attention and sympathy and we can feel like we're accomplishing something with our lives."

They 100% are deleting any comment that isn't sucking their dicks. It is impossible to get this kind of dislike ratio and have only comments like "You are the best for bring this up. You are so hecking valid and I literally cried for 7 hours about this". These are the kind of people who celebrated the hiding of the dislike bar and love abusing Youtube's ability to filter comments.

I sort of assumed their audience was self-selecting. But you're probably right. I forgot the Dislike button was no longer visible without an extension.

I found this feminist D&D podcast here. They like to talk about the past sins of the company and what's been learned. I've only listened to the one where they complain about the number of dead women in Strahd and Lord Soth's pasts and praise 5th ed. Ravenloft for it's improvements like making Dr. Mordenheim (a male mad scientist cursed to be unable to revive his comatose wife) into a female lesbian whose lover is an active, independent woman on the run.
