Well, shucks. I guess this means I have to not enjoy the remake and I, in fact, have had no fun whatsoever with it.

It regularly goes on sale for cheap and it's a fun-enough FPS-RPG. SS2 would benefit a lot less from a remake, but Nightdive would be leaving money on the table if they didn't eventually do it. The Enhanced Edition remaster seems to have done well, same as was the case for the first. Would be very curious what approach they take with the soundtrack - I found their rendition of 1's tunes to be enjoyable.

as a promotion to SS2 remaster fagdive did a interview with ken levine.

Up until now everything goes well in the game for me. Already 100%ed medical, I got nearly everything in research except few audio logs/texts/emails, got also nearly everything in reactor except security being 10% and started maintenance. Already talked in my post about that thing that there are rooms with radiation of over 100 but apart from that I also gotten the problem of dealing with the maintenance level because holy shit there's literally enemies that not only respawn but also got very high damage and also radiation. Previous levels were really easy for me (playing combat on hard, puzzles on medium, mission on medium, cyberspace on easy) but this level just feels almost impossible to complete. Beyond that I really hate cyberspace sections like they have nothing to do with the main gameplay and they look like utter shit. If I would have wanted to play shooting at targets while flying in 3D space I would have played descent not this horrendous mini game. Also I like that the game doesn't handhold you and lets you figure stuff on your own, I just wish there wasn't such absurd enemy respawn, and that the game wouldn't have option to save scum, and that there was at least slightly more cutscenes instead of only audio/text logs and emails cuz it gets boring after a while (I get it, everyone's turned into cyborg, mutant or something else along those lines but like I still wish there was slightly more straightforward storytelling). Also game up until now doesn't contain woke shit but from what I read on this thread, yeah apparently it does contain that so that's sucks ass, so if anyone got recommendations for games without degeneracy, wokeness or anything of that sort, I'll be glad.

I really don't feel bad about not completing it now.
IMO the final boss section makes it worth just quitting the game and mentally rolling credits once youre standing in front of the jack-in point.

It's a very stupid and tedious cyberspace on-foot section with a silly gimmick laser gun that has infinite ammo, plus you infinitely respawn in place and there's no timer so it's impossible to fail.

A patch "reworked" the ending but when I gave the game a replay to see what was different, it seems all they did was remove some of the enemies and make the sequence slightly shorter.

I was insanely fucking disappointed at the ending and I wish they'd just kept the original game's fight.

Nightdive was ordered by atari to remove the SS2 1999 version from everywhere while bundling it with the "remake", they did that even for GOG version.
On steam discussions i found this fucking pearl:

>The people at Nightdive are preservationists.
>preservationists
>apparently clueless to the changes in the system shock 1 demake that another user pointed out
>jester farmer with a furry avatar

LoL.
Lmao even.
Also a user claimed that the SS2 1999 version redux mod was taken out by nightfag request.
