When I was younger I really thought Brian Deegan, Mike Metzger, and Jeremy McGrath were really cool. There was a PS2 game called Freekstyle with Brian and Mike. Was really fun.

I believe I had that game. Deegans son Is racing now and won the 250 championship last year but he hasn't been having the best luck this year

Gosh knowing that Deegan's son is racing make me feel old. As I got older I lost interest. Are you racing?

Deegan has always been a POS. It's why the daughter is the way she is (fighting and can't keep a ride) and the son is headed that way too. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't turn out to be another asshole like Jason Lawrence. Sorry, I hate when people give the sport a shit rep.
McGrath and Carmichael are cool. Were cocky but you couldn't blame them.
I raced a KX500 pretty good in '94 and Carmichael lapped me - in 1 lap - on an 80 during practice. Amazing how fast he was.
Doug Henry is a super cool dude.

Malcolm Stewart seems to have James-itis all of a sudden last 2 years.

Tomac seems to be dialed in and Roczen is on the gas. Just hope he doesn't get hurt again.

I heard of Roczen is he the next big thing in Supercross? I've really only heard good things about him.
He already has been. Here's his wiki. The results are down the page:

He's always seemed like a good one.

A rider I'm waiting to see if they come stateside is Jeffrey Herlings. Though there aren't many sand tracks on the national circuit and the dude just rips in the sand. We got Jorge Prado though and he just won w MXGP championships in a row. Though I see he just got hurt and is out rest of the season.

New year, figured I'd revive this thread. Tomac is looking a lot better than I expected with the KTM swap. Deegan is still riding like a nigger, but a fast nigger. I can't wait for him to move to 450s next year and piss off someone like Barcia or Anderson.

Deegan stayed in 250 to farm another championship like a bitch because he knows he's going to get exposed in 450. For starters, his riding style might work with a 250, but it won't work with more horsepower. His whole schtick in 250 is going full send all the time and having no fear. You do that on a big boy bike and you wind up with an injury shortened career like Villopoto. And like you alluded to, he's not going to get away with riding like a nigger in the 450 class the way he has in 250. Barcia, Anderson, and hell, even Tomac, will absolutely retaliate in a way that 250 riders trying to look good and get factory support won't.

All of his issues could be corrected, of course. He could learn to ride smooth and be less of a nigger on track - But he's a Deegan, and Deegans don't learn from their mistakes. If I sound salty, it's because I am. The shit Deegan pulled at SMX last year with Shimoda was the singlehanded most unsportsmanlike thing I've ever seen in motorsport. It should've been a suspension, and he got a slap on the wrist because the AMA and Feld apparently want Supercross to be the next monster jam or WWE.

Holly shit, I really thought I was the only one here who watched motorbikes.

I Believe this WAS 100% the plan, ( and I really don't blame him or Yamaha) but I bet he has regretted that from the moment Jett announced he was out.
I think he will always regret not racing 450s this season because it will be his best chance at a rookie championship.

For starters, his riding style might work with a 250, but it won't work with more horsepower
Idk... Overall, yes you are normally right, but look at people like Barcia that can come in and win super quickly. Deegan just seems like a better, faster, for aggressive version of Barcia,.. except Deegan is the AMA's cash cow and they will allow him to get away with shit that would have gotten Barcia Dq'd for the season.
You do that on a big boy bike and you wind up with an injury shortened career like Villopoto
I can't co-sign that. Villopoto came, won his championships, made his money, and fucked on off while he still had a working body.
Him breaking his ass during MXGP will always be a stain on his career but I'll never hold that against him, I'd bet he got offered a retarded amount of money by Kawi to race there and it just didn't work out. I do wish he could have kept it together though.

THis may have been a shit post, but it's also usually correct. He's still got a shot this year. If Kenny had any thing besides bad luck he would have a bunch of championships.

Damn I miss the days of Ralph, Ricky ,.and Emig announcing.

Mowhak faggots and retarded Aussie woman
Make me want to fed post.

dk... Overall, yes you are normally right, but look at people like Barcia that can come in and win super quickly. Deegan just seems like a better, faster, for aggressive version of Barcia,..
Barcia, for as aggressive as he is, is actually an insanely technical rider. He doesn't just pin it and hope for the best when he needs to make up time. I was watching a race from 2015 I believe, around that time, and Barcia made a 3 wide pass splitting the middle by accelerating at just the right time and then slowing down in to the corner, running a line that blocked the other 2 from passing him back while still running a reasonable speed rather than all out. I've watched deegan in real life, and he isn't technical like that. He's not a cerebral rider. He's brave as fuck and fears nothing, so he holds it wide open when nobody else will. That's his ace up his sleeve. But you really, honestly cannot do that on a 450.

He did win his championships, but my main point was more that he could've had a legendary career had he not hurt himself. His constant injuries reduced his stat book from "Legend of the Sport" to "Hey, this guy was pretty damn good."

Sorry I didn't get around to replying.

But since the race is about to start who are your picks? I'm going tomac and Deegan for win but I think Cooper Webb and Kitchen are going to have a good night.

Deegan is still riding like a nigger
I was actually shocked that in qualifying today he actually stopped in a corner that Hunter Yoder (60) fell in and helped get the bike off him.

I can't believe he hasn't wadded himself already because he rides over his head. And the whole family are assholes like the old man. His sister is on her last chance racing now.

And it seems like all the bike changes have paid off for their respective riders (well, maybe except for Austin Forkner who wadded himself again yesterday). Prado looks like a different person now.

I want to see this dude live:

Lol my GF had practice on earlier and I noticed that. He definitely only stopped because it was his cruising lap after his hot lap

I really don't think he rides over his head. As much as he pisses me off by riding like a nigger, he is extremely good. It's rare that he hits the ground and even when he doesn't it's usually fairly mild. I really want to like the kid, but when he just straight cleans people out just to do it I get enraged. We need more people like Weston Peick back to keep him in check.
