There are only two characters in Smash that I really want.
Sylux from Metroid Prime Hunters (or any of the hunters from that game), as a way to advertise for Prime 4, and Metroid in General.
Shantae, but I really, really doubt that’s going to happen.
As for the rest of the game, I really don’t care so long as it’s still fun, like the rest of the games. Melee elitists will complain because the game won’t be as broken as their one true Smash Game, but fuck those guys. And I really don’t want Ridley, because every time someone tries to downsize him to “fit” into Smash, he always ends up looking like a constipated pterodactyl.

People really want Indies such as Gunvolt, Shantae and Shovel Knight in Smash, but it wouldn't happen sadly. I am not huge on Smash, but loads of the fans will go ballistic over who is in it or who isn't. Same with people who want 5098650386 Pokemon added or fucking Pichu. People want Snake back, but Konami's BS is pretty much unlikely. I can see the likes of Bomberman being added in. I seen some pretty autistic lists on dA which were cringe worthy.

I rather seen another Adventure/Story mode thing than worry what character is tossed in.

I could kinda see Shovel Knight, but that’s only because he already has an amiibo.

It will most likely depend on whether or not Sakurai can get over the fact that people will inevitably post the game cutscenes to youtube.

People need to give the man a break as well. I seen most of these fans tear at Sakurai like vultures due to characters being put in, not in, nerfed, buffed, etc.

Maybe something as it being a surprise would be fine and cool.

As much as I like Shantae, I don't think she'll be a playable character. She might have a good chance of being an assist trophy though.

Shovel Knight's got a little bit more of a chance, but I still don't know.

Anyway, I'm wondering what the tiering of the new characters will be.

Generally speaking, a lot of the new characters introduced in 4 were pretty high tier (or at least weren't Ganondorf level trash fires). The same thing happened in 3, so I think 5 might balance some of the stronger new characters out, but then introduce some new ones that need balancing.

Either way, the rebalancing will make people wail towards the heavens.
 
The Neptunia community is going spastic right now because the newest game will be on the Switch, and they hope this cracks open the door to let either Neptune or Blanc be a Smash character.

The latter would be meta as hell, given Blanc is the personification of the Nintendo Wii/U and now the Switch.
 
Never knew how much I wanted a definitive edition of Smash with all the characters, stages, etc from all the past games until now.
 
There is allot of sperging over Ridley. Some good. Some bad. I honestly welcome this as a definitive port of the Wii U/3DS version.

However. I came across some people who throw shit fits over characters
who aren't in it and sperging over Pichu returning.

I always felt that "Ridley is too big" was the biggest bullshit excuse ever. People can whine all they want, as far as I'm concerned it's awesome and has been a long time coming. It's about time Metroid finally gets some of the representation it deserves.

Agreed! Bowser and Ganondorf can get into Smash, but Ridley can't? I'm at least happy he's finally been included — hopefully his moveset will be cool af. I'm super happy Daisy got in too since she's best princess. I'm excited as to who else will be added in over the next six weeks or so.

Whining about a character making it into smash is the dumbest thing ever. I can understand being upset if you wanted a character to get in but they didn't (like Waluigi) but the other way around is stupid. If you didn't want Ridley in smash, no one is forcing you to play as him.
Personally I didn't think Ridley would make it into smash, but now I'm glad he's here.
