I never played those games and don't really intend to but that was a nice sendoff to the whole thing, I liked seeing people yell out dark souls at the start
 
The light and Darkness theme Ultimate has really feels like it should have happened sooner. Its a great send off.

I have no attachment to him at all, but glad other people can have some character they begged for since I got mine.

The only people who have any right to salt are the Master Chief and Crash fans, and they seem to be taking it okay. Those 2 are icons like Sora and deserved the spot just as much.
 
Character identity aside, its nice to see a character who looks an aerial threat, its surprisingly rare

But ultimately a bit dull. Stage is boring and the moveset, aerial dominance aside, feels very by the books and that down-b looks like a shit counter.

Also all disney stuff has been scrubbed from it, Donald and Goofy are gone from the mural on that stage. Very soulless, thanks disney
 
There's so much salt that it's pouring into the thread.

I personally wanted Crash, but at this point, I was expecting anybody to have been announced, just like the last few reveals. Sora blew my mind, even though I never cared for Kingdom Hearts.

The only thing they have in common is ridiculously aerial combos. Bayonetta was a medium weight power house with a counter that allowed for 2 seconds of follow up. Bayonetta in 4 will never be replicated. Sora balances out by having such a low threshold blowing on him would murder him.

SE has rights to Sora by the skin of their teeth. Didney would change a mountain of fees and micromanage the fuck out of implementing any of their characters in a fighting game, even one as PG as smash.
If I were Sakurai, I would have put in Isaac or Felix from Golden Sun and saved some money, but oh well, 14 year old me is happy.

Nomura doesn't like people telling him Riku is a better character than 95% of the cast.
 
I think he looks like fun, and Hollow Bastion/Dive to the Heart is a cool stage (frankly better than what I was expecting, which was Traverse Town).
Would have been cooler with a Riku alt, but the costumes are good too.
Great finish for a generally solid DLC run
