I can't believe a guy from last year's (and every year's) group of contestants played [character that appears in every final round] and did a short hop into a glitchy poppy after practicing it for years in friendly wubsies to finally win the super bowl!!!! or something, POGGERS

The only "improvement" is that they find more cheap tricks to pull to make the game be even more autistic.

It might be a movie cliche overhyped and twisted into an irl video game, but that definitely don't happen as often as you'd think, even in just fighting games.

If the players stayed the same since 2015, and everyone stagnated, I'd definitely agree with you that the game needs to be shelved like any fighting game that gets too old. But thing is, theyre all improving. There arent patches, or updates since 2003; people just improved and adapted with the same mechanics kids played with when the game first came out. And it isn't some stagnant boy's club either: there were 8 newcomers in Summit 11 out of the 20 participants. There's players like Kodorin who attended that showed up out of complete nowhere.

Shit. Melee doesn't have any pedophile scandels. There's Westballz with a suss racist comment on Twitch, Dashizwhiz assaulting people, M2K jizzing and vomiting on a couch in 2009, but it's hard to find a hard pedo scandel

Granted, if the argument is that all smash bros is autistic and dumb, and fighting games will never be the same level as pro wrestling, fine. Sorry, but, "I watched grown men play an 20-year-old children's game," isn't something worth getting this excited over. It does sound insane, but not in the way you're thinking.

Also, pro wresting? Really? Pro wresting is also dumb and autistic and especially gay, but at least wrestlers get into shape and try to promote fitness. Plus, there's a chance there'll be decent looking girl wrestlers, I guess. Much more than what you can say for watching greasy fucks like Mango and Hungrybox and faggots like Leffen press buttons for an hour while acting like they're hot shit because of it.

List of Melee Banned players, reasons listed (these are only including people that competed in Melee and Project M, regardless of their ranking when their bans came into effect):

  • A Rookie - Sent nudes to a TO (female) after she posted a beach pic on her public snapchat story. A Rookie claimed it was a Private Message and she was into him, a lie.
  • Ally - Had relationship with a 16yr old boy (CaptainZack), who was over 10 years younger then himself. Has admitted to going to therapy after the reveal.
  • CaptainZack - Forcefully perfomed oral sex against another player. CZ was 15, while the person he performed it on was 20. He also tried to seduce multiple adult men at Smash Tourneys.
  • DJ Nintendo - Kept trying to fuck every girl at his local smash tourney. Had a history of constantly: "Coming on to girls and messaging them in an inappropriate manner". He admitted to committing sexual harassment against 1 girl that came forward.
  • CruzControl - Manipulated him position to sleep with a 15 year old boy.
  • D1 - Currently under review. This was the man that allegedly got a girl, under 18, drunk and slept with her.
  • Edgeluca - Banned with the ban wave for sexual allegations, has made 0 comments or tried to fight the ban. Cannot find explicit allegation.
  • Eikelmann - Steal money from host, spit on people that beat him, admitted to harassment of players (non-sexual).
  • FoCus - Banned under rape allegations.
  • Jtails - Groomed multiple girls which led to some relationships. At least 2 were 16 while he was well over, and he admitted to all of it, then deactivated his twitter and left the scene.
  • Keitaro - Admitted to having sex with a minor during 2GG: Hyrule Saga. He admits to getting a minor drunk and fully taking advantage of her (his own words).
  • KPAN - Raped an attendant, everyone but him agrees that he raped her. Still competes in local melee tournaments under different names.
  • La Luna - Kept trying to sleep with girls, including those who had boyfriends. Would harrass them if they said no to his advances. Famously asked for a party after GENESIS 5 to: "arrange having sex with me for the night"
  • LSDX - Accused of grooming, sexual abuse, and rape of a minor. No comment from him. He was removed from the Honorable Mentions list on the PMRank 2019 (best Project M players of the year).
  • MacD - Admitted to having a trigger (alcohol) leading to him sexually assaulting multiple girls. Has quit drinking and the scene as a result.
  • Mafia - Admitted to emotionally abusive behavior and sexual assault to his ex-girlfriend.
  • Nightmare - Accused of grooming a minor and sexual assault. On the same day, Nightmare tweeted out a statement made from his lawyer, which stated that he was not charged nor associated with grooming of a minor and sexual assault, and also threatening those who wants to ban him from tournaments with legal action. D1 was a big one, but it's revealed that the accusation is a lie. So the court's out whether it's all true or not. He's also more known for commentating all the smash games, not just melee.

Mafia, la luna and MacD are all fair. Though those players are hard to see as pedophilia. Just shitty behavior. DJ Nintendo is a sex pest, but Eikelmann was already a meme and a pariah before he got the boot.

A rookie's case is pretty weak, but it stuck. Far as public opinion is concerned, he's off the hook.

Salem and the rest are brawl/ultimate players.

Also worth mentioning most if not all of the melee instances have been dealt with immediately, and without the clownshow on twitter.

Edit: Im sure I missed a few, and the list definitely left out one who's actually a felon.

Might have suggested melee is without culpability before, but the controversies aren't as egregious as any other fighting game. We can talk for hours about the Street Fighter and Tekken stories that led to fights and arrests.

These are all players that have a history competing in Melee. Some even 2v2 with the 5gods as partners. Unless you win a tournament does it not count? These are people involved in the scene and meet/coerce with fans.
If you want to limit it to only the past few years and not just competing in Melee tournaments:
Dj Nintendo, KPAN, La Luna, LSDX, MacD, Mafia, Nightmare, Overtriforce, RockCrock, SleepyK, Uncle mojo, and Xzax. These players are all active (some still competing) Melee players.

You're scene has pedos playing, definitely some are amongst the fans as well.
