I'm basing this on my first initial reactions to this shitshow. I don't even know who Leffen is and I'm going thru the thread now because is fascinating. But I believe Leffen is an asshole and he knows he can fuck with Hax at a personal level and get away with it.

He writing "he fears for his life" isn't a bitch move to me but an active conscious move to both generate drama, get hax banned and make grow his fanbase.

Maybe I'm wrong and Leffen is just an autistic bitch. Whatever, this is interesting as hell!
 
Hax is gonna go down in Smash history as a giant poser who could never climb the ladder and be a laughing stock for the rest of his life after all this.

You've got Mango who won EVO back to back in 2013 and 2014. You've got HungryBox who has had the most wins and broke the meta with Jigglypuff. You've got Mew2King who is so proficient at Smash that he doesn't just play Melee. And even if he's an awful person now, ZeRo still did so amazing that he had a year long streak of winning tournaments left and right, that his notoriety was so high that they almost didn't have Smash for Wii U on a Sunday Slot at EVO because someone higher up thought he'd win (he didn't.)

Hax. What the fuck is he known for other than this and being one third of "walk up slowly and downsmash"?

Trooning out only works as a shield for individuals whose infamy has not reached high levels (or that have fanbase sizeable enough)
If someone was seen as a autistic retard universally before trooning out, they will continue being seen as a autistic retard.
 
Now that I think about it, this is the only competitive scene where you have a more than decent chance of eliminating rivals through gaslighting them into admitting they're some form of groomer or pedo or just writing novels about your death note instead of beating them at the video game. Leffen is just playing the real game.

Honestly given how fucking insane Smash fans are I would start to wonder if some Hax loving sperg decided to bring a knife to a future tournament.

I think it's very reasonable for Leffen to be worried. It's not likely but neither is getting mugged but many people carry protection just in case. Crazy people have thrown their lives away (and destroyed others) for utterly stupid reasons. You want examples look at the assassinations of Dimebag Darrell and John Lennon. Or Valerie Solanas, the crazy bitch who shot Andy Warhol.

There is no doubt in my mind that there's a small number within the Smash Bros community who think this silly stupidly fun game is one of the greatest achievements of all time. And you had a respected schizo like Hax make a giant video where he's claiming another nerd is going to damage the game community forever. Is it really that unreasonable to think that there could be a truly absurd person who might want to stop TrumpHitlerStalinMao before the true destruction can happen?

This is why E-Celebs & and hell anyone using their legal name on the internet should hide their home addresses. Because a few years back total scumbags were killing innocent people via Swatting.

Yeah, my thought exactly! Leffen is the one who won this and will keep winning against Hax, because he doesn't get triggered and doubles down on fucking with him. Hax is so retarded that he has valid motives to hate on Leffen but comes across as paranoid and schizo, making all his argument null and void.

I find incredibly interesting this whole situation because I believe Hax is correct in a lot of things and Leffen is an asshole, but Hax did a 2 hour video rambling like an idiot comparing him to Hitler and using big words that only make him look pretentious and hurting his credibility. The motherfucker started Evidence.zip 2 using a Hitler quote!

That's the thing - people respect(ed) Hax. He's someone who's been a trailblazer in Melee, and a player with many important upsets under his belt. People would have wanted to enter his tournament. Leffen is living his best life with LEVO right now, not only with Melee but also the new Guilty Gear Strive. Hax painting it as "wah wah Leffen made a tournament on the same day as me and made it SUBSCRIPTION ONLY what a fucking CAPITALIST I was gonna let people enter for free by the way I engineered the situation to make sure it looked like Leffen saw I was going to have a tournament and I wanted him to look like the bad guy in my upcoming 2 hour hitpiece by playing 4D chess and making it look like he copied me". His claims have no merit because he's engaging in the things he's accusing Leffen of, only he's doing it with a psychology degree earned from two hours studying at the University of Wikipedia. AT LEAST don't admit you were trying to mastermind the situation. Why would you out yourself like that? Would have been easier to say "sorry y'all. cough cough got a cold can't run the tournament".

That situation in particular has no more substance than some girl checking her friend's selfies and noticing her friend is wearing a white shirt on insta only to rush to the store to get the same shirt, while blaming her friend for copying her later on. It's all childish bullshit. The biggest own Hax could have ever served Leffen is moving on and doing his own thing. Too bad he's been unable to, because Leffen's lol'ing to the bank coming out of this the winner. If his stream data is anything to go by, this "scandal" didn't do anything to hurt Leffen.

To make it clear, I'm not even a Leffen superfan; just someone with enough insight into the Melee community to narrate the situation. I would have been happy to see Leffen served a lifetime ban instead of a one-year back in 2013. Trying it like THIS, though? Can't help but sit back and lol.

Not to mention, in North America we don't take Hitler comparisons all that seriously unless you're from a family impacted directly by WWII. If Hax was European instead of American, this would have absolutely gone worse on Hax than what the reception on the initial video did, at least that's the talk of the town from European players.
 
Is Leffen seriously off the hook just because Hax made a retard schizo video instead of a simple showcase on why Leffen is a cunt? Not really understanding this. From the time I was in the melee community, I believed it was common knowledge that Leffen was an asshole. I don't get the support for Leffen here at all outside of Hax making one of the shittiest drama videos ever created and people naturally clowning on him for it.

I'm not even saying this as a Hax fanboy. I never cared for Hax, In fact, I was all for Leffen because of how much of a troll he was. But from what was shown in the video, Leff has done some pretty fucked up shit and should be paying the price for it right now.

Leffen is clearly a fuckboy cunt - but Hax is the schitzo autistic sperg that got butthurt over someone "stealing his idea of a fight club" or "remapped his clearly perfect tardbox made for tard hands" and literally compared him to hitler in a what? 2 hour video? He went through the trouble of making this "documentary" on someone being a cunt.

I'd say so, yes. If only for Leffen proving himself through play to have enough admirers to make it not matter. Melee players don't really care if they are entertained, and I do think Melee players don't care about his past due to his skills across the games he plays. He's the asshole who won EVO, and that's good enough.

This is a beef between two rivals where one of them came out looking like a damn baby, because he couldn't think to edit his hitpiece first, or get a cosign from others backing him up.

Should Leffen had been served a lifetime ban back in the day? Probably, because yelling in the ear of a deaf player would have warranted that. Who knows why he was only served a year-long ban instead.

In order for Hax to have any movement with his proposed evidence.zip 2, he needs respected voices to agree with him. It's just not happening that way. His public peer group reaction ranges from "too wary to comment" to support for Leffen. He needs people to get on his crusade, not... "Leffen has matured a LOT since those days and is largely a positive community force now, he has also already served his time". This sort of reception just shows how bad this is backfiring for him.

As said in the video, when Leffen bought a Boxx clearly just to fuck with it and spread false information about it. He "manipulated" his community into L-Canceling the wrong way which is a move that saves a few frames at the end of your aerial attacks. He blamed it on the boxx having a bad layout and provided a fix that actually made L-Canceling on the boxx worse instead of better like he said it would.

Now, I never used the boxx back when I played, if Hax was wrong here too then shame on me. But from what's in the video this is clearly fucked up. You're actively bringing down someone else's product via false information, how is that defendable in any capacity?
