The FGC as a whole is radioactively autistic. I don't think there's a single person in it who's legitimately normal and well-adjusted. Maybe Mike Ross? He seems really normal, so he might be the one exception.

Kinda feel sorry in a way for this guy, gaming communities at the best of times are toxic, throw in money, young teens and your general arseholery and you get the worst of the worst that gaming could give. It more looks like an insular problem with the melee lot, meaning he'd have been better just spreading his wee zip around to folk that care, cut the crazy cult talk out and just point to how the wee would-be chinky Swede is a asshole, instead, he tried firing a shotgun, hit his own leg, and screamed in such a way that everyone thought he was crazy. What's quite interesting to me is the pro player/commentator community reception. Sure, Hax will have his supporters. Leffen also had his supporters under his tweet reply I've posted upthread. As in any other community, large voices move mountains for support. Melee fans are consistently unable to have their own opinions if it was not already spouted from someone more important than them, because they megasimp for the top players/commentators. Therefore a good idea of how a scandal will work out in Melee can be worked out by looking at reception from the top 50~ most important people.

Found this tweet from Ludwig "most subbed man on Twitch" Ahgren. For reference, he's beaten two top 100 players and has mostly worked in content creation/commentary for tournaments. While not a prolific pro player, he has held his own influence as a personality in Smash, long before he hit his "most subbed" milestone.

I have been checking up on replies from other pro players - a lot of people are unwilling to speak to Hax in a public manner. Most of the time they're all over each other's drama.

The fact that some of these men have nothing else in their lives but some old children's game no one gives a shit about is the bigger issue. And they are ruining their body for it is even more sad. It's to bad HAX couldn't focus his white hot autism on something constructive or lucrative. My guess is he is pulling up on 30 and still living at home with his mom. No future, no marketable skills. Many such cases.

The event organizers had no choice but to ban this obsessed sperg after being publically notified of his schizo shit. If he showed up and did something violent they would be responsible.

Don't expect anything less from Smashers.

Remember, this is a group of lonely nerds who find their validation in playing a competitive video game that is historically maligned as a competitive game. Not only does everything have to be analytical and facts 'n logic when they discuss their game (because they are on a constant validation quest to get a single thumbs up from Sack o Rye himself), but they absolutely do also feel the need to respond to the pure spergery that Hax came up with in point-by-point .pdf format. The entire community is a milk farm in this way.
