Most of the Shantaefags that have never played a game of the series are from after 1/2 genie hero released. Most of the ones that have actually played the series would enjoy if Shantae got in, but aren't the ones sperging out every time some other character gets in.with shantae I think a lot of them do actually play the games, and they're not bad games or anything, 2 and 3 are pretty solid even, the music and sprite art is great, but the series is pretty overrated. even compared to other wayforward games. also it's just monster world iv.
I think another part of it is that people see shantae as the scrappy underdog of platformer mascots. makes it more endearing. but the gameplay itself is just competent.

TFW you just realized that Intelligent Systems foreshadowed the Byleth and Three Houses salt over twelve years ago.
I mean for God's sakes, the most mature group out of these are Krystal fans. And if goddamn furries have produced significantly less salt, drama, and tears than you, that's actually pretty fucking sad.
When will these people learn to be happy that their favorite character that isn't popular enough to get a fighter slot is at least acknowledged by the dev team?

Sure, the Smash communitys reception to Byleth has been exceptional to say the least but its easy to forget that its pretty much always been like this
Think back to the Lucario/Mewtwo situation during Brawl or when Greninja was revealed
Hell, people already posted dumb shit in the comment section under the Miiverse reveal post for Lucario in Smash 4 just because they assumed Lucario "stole" Mewtwo's spot again

Bendy is a delusional indie pick who’d get a mii costume if they bothered with it, and Dante could be possible but highly doubtful.
Though the peak delusion of this is assuming Lara Croft will win a smash ballot when she’s been irrelevant for years now, that’s like saying Geno will still get in.

This list has absolutely no logic to any of it. Why would Spyro be chosen over Crash, a character far more popular owned by the same company? Why would Sakurai ever put in two characters that, like @Truthboi says, is only known to normies as "pokemon ripoff"? Why would he put in a character that's already an assist trophy just to grant a single person's dying wish? Why pick an indie character from a game that practically lost all of its attention as soon as Cuphead came out? Why do these people still think that a character owned by DISNEY even remotely has a chance? The only character here that even remotely has a chance is Dante, and I doubt he even thought about that when he made this.
If he wants to be 50/50, why couldn't he make choices that actually seems logical?
Why not a Sword and Shield pokemon, since Nintendo would certainly want to promote that game? Why not Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden, considering that Tecmo-Koei has good enough relations with Nintendo to the point where they even own one of their IPs (Fatal Frame)? Why not Heihachi from Tekken? after all, they were planning on putting him in the last Smash title.

I just don't understand why people think Sora is a lock to get in. Square Enix already has two reps and it's highly unlikely Disney would ever agree to putting him in. They're extremely strict with their IP's.
