I haven't been seeing any of this supposed sperging from FE fans, and I spend a lot more time in those circles than smash circles. The closest I've seen is Fire Emblem fans being smug because smash fans have spent the past seven months seeking out every single trailer and social media post nintendo puts out for 3 houses, downvoting it, sperging in the comments, and saying how they "totally don't care", which is why they go out of their way to sperg of course. Keep in mind, this is MONTHS before Byleth was announced.

The best thing that could come out of the Byleth fallout is that people finally decide to retire the Hoes Mad meme. It was never that funny to begin with.

I wished I read this thread earlier. As someone who loved SMRPG when it came out, allow me to say that Genofags are fucking weird.

As for Sora in Smash, I don't know if it's been addressed before but I'm sure it's out of the question. I heard Nomura wanted to add him in Dissidia but Disney didn't like the idea of Sora in a fighting game.
 
Resident Smash whiner NyxTheShield, who was making a Project M version of Ultimate, got a cease and desist order from Nintendo. Also he tries to astroturf by calling the mod "educational" (whatever that's supposed to mean) and saying he never intended to release it (a blatant lie given that he's had multiple tweets hyping people up for the release of the mod).

Naturally, the level of crying is off the charts, even if it fails to rival the Byleth announcement.

However, a NyxTheShield update isn't complete with him whining about Smash in general, and not just Ultimate. He seems to hate every Smash game despite being a self-proclaimed fan. For instance, this first one which is him responding incredulously to Ultimate winning "best fighting game" at the VGAs.

That is an insane lie, nobody who fakes salt has the capacity to keep that up for like 40 mins. You are right though, people made it sound like he was screaming, when really he was in a state of bitchiness. It reminded me of DSP, the way he spoke and ranted about every minor detail and even when something he might like comes he still has to bitch and moan about it.

with shantae I think a lot of them do actually play the games, and they're not bad games or anything, 2 and 3 are pretty solid even, the music and sprite art is great, but the series is pretty overrated. even compared to other wayforward games. also it's just monster world iv.

I think another part of it is that people see shantae as the scrappy underdog of platformer mascots. makes it more endearing. but the gameplay itself is just competent.

My mistake, he really did pretend to be retarded... To get back at the fake leakers??? I really don't follow his logic. He could have just left his thoughts on Twitter and been done with it rather than hoaxing people for no reason. If he really wanted to get back at fake leakers, he could just... you know... not believe every leak he sees and not report on them or give them any time of day? Then again if he did that he couldn't make easy views by having The Grinch on his thumbnails.
