Why do people even want Steve in Smash? All because it's very mainstream and popular?
I think people originally wanted him as a joke character, but Smash fans are complete spergs about it. I mean, I just watched the reveal trailer for Banjo and the comments were just cancer, saying stupid shit like "Wher is Waluigi tho". Leave it to Smash fans to beat a dead horse for over half a decade.

The best moment in Smash history is when that one dude threw a dead crab at Hungrybox; I imagine that the crab was the best smelling thing that attended the tournament.

There's two camps of people:

1) The ones who are doing it "ironically."
2) The ones who aren't aware the above are doing it ironically and think there's genuine appeal.

The audience for Minecraft does not play Smash Brothers, or at the very least are a small minority. A Minecraft character would just be a wet fart, it doesn't have the excitement factor of characters like Joker and Bayonetta, nor does it have the weird factor a la Wii Fit Trainer or Piranha Plant. It's on the same tier as a Fortnite rep, or Waluigi--it's just because it's a meme and nothing more.

What I don't get is how they can't seem to grasp who it is that has the final say of who goes into this game and that's some Jap, it's a Jap game made by and mainly for other Japs so why would they bother adding someone they know probably slim to fuckall about in? You don't see Netherrealm clamoring to add The Eternaut to Injustice or Ran Xerox to Mortal Kombat do you? (that would be kinda awesome though but that's neither here nor there).

I'm sure a lot of Japanese people have heard of Banjo-Kazooie, LOL.

Since Smash is a crossover between video games, I think it's time for a crossover between threads:

ResetEra: "Can we talk about how 40% of the Smash Bros season pass is linked to homophobia?"

The fact that only 80% of the userbase is calling the OP an idiot instead of 100% is especially concerning.

Naturally, it's bans galore:

>"welcome to disagree with the OP"
>Ban people for making light jabs at the OP.

Also, JonTron being in Yooka-Laylee at one point makes Banjo-Kazooie "problematic" in retrospect? Ya see, Playtonic? There was never any need to give into their demands, they'd call you racist anyway.

That's how many degrees of separation, anyway? JonTron said something involving crime statistics on an unrelated podcast (and didn't say anything which you could say was "homophobic" if I remember correctly, they're just assuming he is), and he only voice acted gibberish in a game, was removed when he did this after the fact, and the game itself was made by ex-devs of Rare, and Banjo-Kazooie was made by Rare about a decade or two prior.

That's like calling somebody a racist because their mother's friend used to date somebody who, after they started dating, made an off-color joke before they broke up. The worst part of that comparison is that it isn't an exaggeration.

No, it's worse: it's calling someone who's dead a racist because their granddaughter dated someone who made an off-color joke after the grandparent died. Apparently, the only way to not be racist according to ResetEra is to attain 4th Level Wokeness and open your third eye to see all possible racist implications through the world-line and studiously sever your existence from them.

So according to these woke tards, Dragon Quest is homophobic because the composer might be a homophobe, despite the series not showing any homophobia at all.
That's like saying that the movie Pocahontas has anti-semitic undertones entirely because Mel Gibson did voicework for it.

Why the fuck does anyone still use this forum or pay any attention to it? It's nothing more than a cult site at this point.

Well... Did they kill themselves? I mean, this guy at gamefaqs said he was deleting his account if Banjo was revealed, and he did that when it happened.
>the guy's signature
imagine being so reliant on internet validation for self esteem that every post you make reminds people that you were right about what characters were in a kid's fighting game

No idea, but I doubt it. People threaten suicide all the time and never go through with it. Besides it's not like the GameFAQs guy was threatening to an hero.

What made this hilarious was that it was over a party fighting game.
