If a SC Rep got in, it be either Mitsrugi, Siegfried or Nightmare.

With Nintendo choosing the dlc, I feel it will be mainly first party characters.
Or Yoshimitsu.
And with Nintendo not actually having rights to SC. They would be denied, they'd also have a better chance at being in Tekken since the game style is practically the same. If Nintendo were to get a character from a different company it would be from a JRPG. Since that genre is making a huge comeback with Nintendo. At this point however, I think they'll only make other characters trophy assist since all companies that were ultimately connected to Nintendo in one way or another already have a rep.

Among the stuff you have to complain about the game, you just have to complain about the character roster a lot which is like already big enough with over 70 characters, and it's all because your character did not make it in.
They don't seem to realize the solution to wanting to play as their favorite character/waifu: play a different game where that character is actually playable.
Sure, they might have to end playing a really shitty game like Sonic 2006, but let's be honest here, these tards care more about characters than less important things like "quality control".

70 characters plus echos is enough. Sakurai could add Reggie and people still would moan for x character and y character. Most people just want tosee their wish character, reguardless how shitty they would be.

This has a few connotations that make literally no sense depending on if he's a casual player or a tryhard.

If he's a casual player, it's nonsensical why he would stick with Project M over Ultimate when Ultimate is the better casual game, and Project M is made exclusively for tryhards, with a community made exclusively of tryhards, and with outdated modes just ripped from the worst game in the series.

Conversely, if he is a tryhard, why would you stick with Project M anyways when A) it's banned from most streams and thus isn't even hosted at any major tourneys and B) Ultimate is currently garnering more attention competitively while every other entry in the series is dying, Project M especially?

Unless for some reason he's literally player Project M because he really, really likes Geno to the point that he'll deny himself an amazing game because it's missing a singular literally who, which is the most idiotic option out of all of these...and unfortunately the one that seems to fit the bill the most. This game has the largest character roster of any non-anime fighting game (well, if you consider Smash just a "platform fighter") and you're really just going to sit there and whine because it's missing a single character?

What modes did they rip from the 3DS version? Wasn’t it a brawl mod?

If a SC rep got in it would absolutely be Siegfried with a Nightmare alt costume and/or echo (and Inferno or True Nightmare as a boss character); with Nightmare being the "heavy" version. I have a hard time thinking that any SC characters get a rep when the game is already filled with characters with weapons but I can't see them getting to Kilik before a majority of the SC cast. I'd think they'd do Tekken before SC if they were doing a Namco fighter.

Kilik is the least interesting choice tbh. He isn't even the "poster boy" like Siegfried is. Which I see many Seig/Nightmare players online.

The Sora tinfoilers are another tale. One wanted Goofy and Donald to be a final smash if Sora got in.

Yeah, you would have to be insane to think Sora would be legally available for Smash, considering he's co-owned by Disney.
In fact, a second Square-Enix fighter in general would probably not be plausible, considering Square seems to be alot more restrictive on the Final Fantasy content in Smash Bros. when compared to the other third party companies and their series (hence the apparent lack of any spirits, assist trophy, and only 2 songs).

I think they'd be game, they've been much better about cross-over content in the last few years (FFXIV x PSO2, FFXIV x Monster Hunter, 2B in Soul Calibur 6, Noctis in Tekken 7) but I'd be shocked if they didn't stick with Final Fantasy for Smash as there's quite a lot there to draw from before you needed to rep 2 square franchises.

Unrelated - Put Chrono Trigger shit in you cowards.

Virginben, AKA the guy who people believe is a legit leaker (who says stuff like Steve from Minecraft and Bandana Waddle Dee would be in the game at launch, then backpedaled to say it was DLC), endorsed a guy named Hitagi as a legit leaker, and then said guy gave contradictory information to what Virginben gives.

upload_2018-11-21_18-32-34.png

So now people are suspicious of Virginben, and he's falling apart at the seams. There are now three outcomes due to this development: either one or both of them are liars, and my money is on both. Not due to the presence of evidence for or against (as there is a lack of evidence entirely), but because they're both insufferable and I just want to see them fail.

In this exchange, somebody is calling Virginben out for not predicting Piranha Plant, which would've confirmed he was a 100% genuine leaker because of how specifically unpredictable the character is, but he conveniently opted not to leak it because he "didn't believe it" when it was relayed to him from his insider. Needless to say, a person in his position would absolutely leak Piranha Plant even if he personally didn't believe it if his source has any bit of credibility, or even exists to begin with, because it would confirm their credibility without a shadow of a doubt. Now he's backpedaling even more, saying he didn't leak it not because he didn't believe it, but because the video was watermarked...and he also won't post the watermarked video now that he knows it's real because of some moon logic I really don't understand.

As the magical Reddit upvotes demonstrate, people still hold stock into this absolute hack fraud over people with actual critical thinking skills. Typical of Reddit.

Anyway, Virginben is known for being absolutely obnoxious by making vague and general guesses and benefiting from the "broken clock is right twice a day" effect. It's less that people actually believe him, and more than his supporters are just as annoying as he is.

These legit "leakers" honestly just are good at making predictions, nothing more and like all people who make predictions have a chance at failing them.
Yes. Most of the inclusions of the game's roster were simply predictable, too. My friends treated me like I was psychic because I predicted Chrom, Isabelle, Dark Samus, and Ken when I just used simple logic to deduce that using the information given to us from the official media. I almost predicted Incineroar, too, but it was a coin flip between him or the other starter for the latest Pokemon game that they invariably would've made playable for marketing purposes.

And I'm not saying this just to go "look at me, I predicted almost five characters on the roster!" I'm showing how that's four correct predictions just using logic--very, very basic logic--and I've already successfully "leaked" more characters than Vergeben has and I have a cleaner track record, because Vergeben has been known for "leaking" false information...but people only focus on his lucky guesses. But unlike Vergeben, I named the characters specifically and didn't backpedal just because of how sure I was.

Also unlike Vergeben, I don't have a horde of people worshiping the ground I walk on for getting easy guesses. I just don't understand why there are Vergeben "supporters." He's just some idiot on the internet spouting nonsense, why does he need a fanbase? Is this another bizarre instance of mind-numbing groupthink taking control?

I find this part quite notable: "Smash Bros. itself is like a big crossover festival"

That's the weird thing with Smash Bros., ever since Brawl people started seeing it less as a fun wacky Nintendo fighting game and more of a big celebration of video games all together ever since Snake and Sonic to the point where even Sakurai can't deny it. Anyone could make it into Smash because hey look, fucking Cloud made it in and no one besides the huge spergs thought that was feasible, and to a lot of people having your favourite character be a fighter is a Huge Deal™ because wow look, they're in Smash, they're Important™. That's what I think is going on anyway, people trying to prove their favourite vidya (waifus) are notable through Smash. It would explain all the sperging about "wasted" slots that should've been used for muh waifus from games no one bought or remembers, and all the salt about characters like Bayonetta or Piranha Plant.

Happy Black Friday smash thread. This year you’re getting salt for Christmas.

A shipment of the carts got out early and it’s only a matter of time until it gets dumped. Expect the usual bedwetting over piracy with an added topping of bricker since someone on GBATemp is reporting that there’s an NSP for the game (read: package installer) that shits garbage all over your switch system files when installed.

MUGEN(is it what it called?) is way superior than Super Smash Bros anyway.
Mugen is it’s own special brand of weird and if anyone hasn’t had the experience of downloading one of those 5gb configurations with 400+ characters, do it. It’s fun as hell for an hour or two.

It reminds me though, there’s a very viable and fun chain chomp fighter for mugen. I’m surprised they haven’t made it into Smash yet, a hazard tethered to a block would be a fun assist and/or character. Huh, they're in 4. Neat. I thought they were a mod.

I actually looked up the quote by Sakurai on his decision to leave Hal Laboratory, something I mentioned a while back on this thread
It was tough for me to see that every time I made a new game, people automatically assumed that a sequel was coming. even if it's a sequel, lots of people have to give their all to make a game, but some people think the sequel process happens naturally.
Keep in mind, he said this 2003. He was actually talking about Kirby in this quote, but this really applies to Smash tards more than anything else.

Melee is far from dead though, and the reason one would stick with PM/melee is pretty obvious. They have advanced tech the other games just don't.

Call me autistic all you want, but I can play melee every single of my life. Yet brawl/tr4sh bore me to tears with the slow floaty gameplay and lack of movement options.
