Wait, wait, Scorpion? I mean, I get that Scorpion is a popular character, but fucking why? I haven't heard anyone talk about wanting him in Smash.
I mean, it would be kinda cool, especially since Ryu is there and we could finally have a Street Fighter character fighting someone from Mortal Kombat, but that is insanely wishful thinking. I ain't holding my breath on that.

You know that when Ashly and Waluigi get in (read: never), these people will move the goalposts to "why aren't Dribble & Spitz and Koopa Kid in Smash, Sakurai? Where's Bubble and Bobble?? Master Chief???"
I don't understand why people angry about Isabelle act like she somehow bumps other characters off the roster. These slots aren't some exclusive club, it's just whoever's popular.

I disagree that she wasn't predictable. Not to toot my own horn (seriously, I'll explain why in a second), but I called Isabelle around a week or two before Chrom and Dark Samus was announced and my friends are asking how I knew or that I "wasted my gift" predicting Isabelle, and I really don't feel that way.
It's not that I'm predicting them, I'm really not, it's just what makes sense with what's been revealed before. There was no footage of Chrom in Robin's Final Smash, or Dark Samus as in assist trophy, but "mysteriously," Ike's reskin of Chrom and Samus's reskin of Dark Samus weren't in the demos or footage, and I--among many others--just said it's because they'll be an easy echo fighter. The same goes for Isabelle, who also had never had her assist trophy revealed when she was one in 4. Now we know why.
If we follow the same trend, Shadow will most likely be announced as an echo for Sonic, since his assist trophy has yet to be revealed in any media when he was one in 4, and Sonic's reskin to resemble Shadow has been removed from the demos. You could take a step further and say all the old Mii Fighter outfits are good chances as well, since Inkling, K Rool, Chrom, and Dark Samus were outfits. I personally disagree, but if that's the case, Geno and Monster Hunter are also possibilities. I'm just not holding my breath since that's much less feasible. Either way, despite how blatantly it is that this will happen, people will either be surprised (which is fine, it's good to have fun with character announcements) or get angry over it (which isn't fine, and you should feel stupid if you do).
Anyway, the point of what I'm saying is that a lot of evidence of a character's inclusion is laid out right in front of people, and it's not some black magic that people are calling these picks. Of course, it's good that people are either surprised as Isabelle or patting themselves on the back for predicting her. It's stupid and bad to get angry and stomp your feet like people are already doing because A) you really should've seen it coming and B) it literally doesn't matter.

I thought there was a decent chance of her getting in, but I assumed it was gonna be as an echo of Villager.
Pleasantly surprised she has her own moveset.
I imagine there's gonna be some long-lasting salt over this. Genofags and the assist-trophy crew aren't gonna be happy that an actual slot was "wasted" on Isabelle instead of their favorite character of choice.

Mortal Kombat isn't really a huge thing in Japan. There are some Japanese MK fans, but they are niche to non existent. Plus MK games are banned in Japan. There are a few people who want MK characters in Smash as well for Project X Zone.

I think Isabelle is the perfect constrast to all the retarded requests out there. Animal crossing is huge for Nintendo and Isabelle got in Mario Kart 8 by sheer popularity. (Just like Rosalina did too before her...)
In other words, Isabelle was always a very logical and predictable choice for Smash, but the internet never considered this because her fans aren't degenerates who spam every social media about how much they want her in.

I don't either. The only real history Mortal Kombat has with Nintendo was that the original game was censored to hell on the SNES thanks to Nintendo's policies, only to have the sequel keep the gore.
That's not exactly something that translates to an E10 rated fighting game (if anything, it would put them right where they started). As much as I like Mortal Kombat, I don't really think the series has a place in Super Smash Bros.
Dante was in that Project X Zone game for 3DS Capcom made, but that's a giant crossover game and not a dedicated Nintendo DMC game.

I swear it’s impossible for anything to happen regarding ultimate without some sector of the internet becoming whiny babies. I just hope Isabelle has a cool moveset, there’s a lot more potential stuff from AC that didn’t wind up part of villager’s moveset. Would be cool if some other random villagers were echoes of her as well (and, of course, stir up even more salt over favorite villager x not making it in).

Too many of these idiots overestimate the popularity of their favorite niche characters/waifus, while at the same time, underestimating the popularity of the characters that actually become playable.

Thing with people and the logic of "ANYONE CAN GET IT!" is baseless. Sakurai can say no to a character and a Dev can say no to their charcter appearing.
I mean, I am not a fan of Animal Crossing, since the games bore me. I do think she deserves being in the roster and I wonder if her Echo will be KK Slider or her bother. There's many other NPC Animal Crossing characters like Tom Nook, Redd, Timmy and Tommy and that cat that appears on the bus.
