I'm still surprised how the internet has evolved since the early 2000s. Every fringe interest and complaint has a group, and those groups have a voice that is taken seriously for some reason. It's also made me see how impressionable the masses are. The whole trans movement was barely on anyone's radar, and without external influence was extremely rare. Now that the idea is out there and supported its exploded (compared to what it was).
The things people share about themselves and express with their real name attached to it on fully public forums like twitter, facebook, youtube... How everyone's life is so easy and boring, yet so out of control, so they go looking for problems to fix, opportunities to show how virtuous they are... How people act like children well into adulthood blindly following companies, getting hyped over 2 decade old games, its pathetic. With the internet though there is always a group to support whatever asinine way you choose to live your life, so instead of growing or being shamed out of this retard behavior they continue it for decades.
