We all know Mario is just a regular plumber, whose girlfriend Peach wanders off to see Bowser on the regular. To cope, he gets high on Mushrooms, and the games are simply his Magic Mushroom high while he tries to cope being cheated on constantly.

Given there’s 999 Moons...I totally believe it.
There's actually more than 999 moons, the counter just stops at 999.
There's about 800-something moons on the checklist of moons to get, but then there's the shop moons which don't count on the checklist, but still add up to the final number of moons.
There's over 1000 moons in the game but if you try actually getting all of them the game won't even acknowledge you went out of your way to attempt to do so in any way, shape or form. There is no reward for getting all 1000-something moons in the game because the counter stops at 999. It's kind of disappointing.

Looks like there's still more things to do and explore, but bro and I beat the game tonight. And I just have to say, that ending was

 metal.
But seriously, that was a pretty cool way to escape the Moon Kingdom. Bowser and Mario fighting over Peach was pretty funny, though, always is fun to see a game be self-aware at times. It's the little things, you know? And is it just me, or is this the very first time we hear Mario say Peach's name?

I unfortunately knew about the Mushroom Kingdom level--although I wondered if we'd see more of it anyway--but finding the painting route that leads to Yoshi's house (he freaking lives on a floating island, what the hell???) was pretty cool. My brother was really happy about it.

It's a fun game, I like it a lot. Had a lot of laughs and a lot of cool ways to discover secrets on our own (resorted on looking things up for some of the Moons during the backtracking, though), and while that main game ending was pretty good, it's awesome to know we still have a lot of things left to do, and I find that exciting.

I want a Switch for this game more than Breath of the Wild. Wish there was an option to make Mario sound like Bob Hoskins though, that would be perfect.

I regret not getting a Switch when I could have. Both Zelda and Mario are right up my alley for what and how I play video games nowadays.

I finally started playing again. New Donk City is quite fun.

The artbook is interesting. There were a ton of scrapped outfit designs. One was Mario in a Japanese schoolgirl uniform complete with anime hairstyle.

Started up the game for the first time in about a year and a half. Ended up finding 12 moons I missed and also completed the Metro Kingdom. That's pretty fucking cool that all this time down the road I can still haul in a bunch of moons and have fun even though I already have 800 of them.

Darn good game.

I'll kick a fist up the jump rope game though.

Have you tried using the moped to jump rope? Your jumps will all be the same height.

It's a good game, it has the best character control of any 3D platformer. I just didn't care for any of the Cappy shit (characters, story, abilities, etc), nor some of the worlds (the food one was visually bland, many were generic or boring, dragon one was like a beta map they accidentally left in). That ending had a light feminist tone I didn't appreciate either.

Overall, it looked, played, and sounded great. A few other minor gripes aside (I want to play as Mario, not Goombas and shit; why is Mario so obnoxiously over expressive in this game?) it's just about perfected the genre.

We need Isle Delphino to come back for the rumored sequel.

I really hope we are actually getting a sequel to the game. If we do, any unique types of locations you guys want to see? Or maybe some cameos?
I think Odyssey did a great job opening up the mainline titles to the other parts of Mario, what with New Donk City and Toadette being present. The fact that spin-off material can be meshed into mainline really gets me excited to see how they may follow it up.

Personally, I really hope we get a desert themed Sarasaland world. Finally give Daisy her kingdom back and a big presence again, since she is now Smash worthy. I think it would be a cute detail if this potential world included the Daisy circuit statue, just to really solidify Luigi and Daisy as a thing.

I would also love for there to be a haunted mansion level to connect with Luigi’s Mansion. Maybe Pulterpup could steal some moons and you have to chase him.

Waluigi Pinball confirmed.

The sequel is definitely real. There is too much material to not do it.

For locations, I just want Delfino Island mainly. If I could get some Mario RPG areas that'd be swell, but obviously never gonna happen (especially Star Hill & Yoshi Island).

Cameos, I think it'd be interesting to see them return to Stanley from Donkey Kong 3. Maybe even base an area off of it.

I was sure that they would add Isle Delfino to Mario Galaxy. It was the perfect DLC. Hopefully it gets into Galaxy 2.
