Super Mario Maker 2 - yet another Mario level creator

That kotaku nigger, wtf. The "Goomba was a good guy all along" level was popular in the first game on the Wii U too, when Mario hits switches and things so a goomba can progress on a parallel track with you to the end. Fuckin' A man. I haven't played either game and even I knew about it.

In other news, we have cows posting their own levels. Somebody check them out for us!

Now that the game has been out for a month, we're starting to see some genuinely unique MM2 levels springing up that take advantage of the new toys provided by vertical levels and 3d World content. Its also interesting to see the dynamic between old streamers who are building rehashed MM1 stuff and newer ones who have fully embraced MM2.
 
I do love some of the creativity of the best player-hostile levels, especially the ones that aren't just "invisible blocks when you jump, lol"

 
The "Boo" rating is the worst thing to happen to this game. Super Expert runs are too easy and too nice now that all the truly awful levels have been Boo'ed out of existence.
I accidentally booed a level I meant to like and couldn't undo it - if the guy who made that popular Isle Delfino level is reading this, I'm sorry about that
 
I'm disappointed this is the final update.

All the new stuff they added is neat, but they never added any new themes. That other styles panel just having Mario 3d World is depressing.
 
Been messing with the update all morning, I think its great. World maker is a game changer and all the new power-ups and enemies are great too. Lack of new Styles is disapointing, but I think it may be worth giving up an extra style for this tbh. If you want to reach you can say we kind of sort of got a Mario 2 USA style through a power-up.
 
Super Worlds are a bit disappointing.

They're all pretty linear. No shortcuts or secret exits or anything.

Plus, you can only have 1 world on Nintendo's servers at a time, you can't name it, and there doesn't seem to be any sort or search features to help discovery.

I hope that if Nintendo releases Mario Maker 3 they go all out and put a huge focus on World making with hidden exits, branching paths, secret exits, overworld encounters, the ability to upload more than one, hetc.

Also Power-Ups are not kept between levels. Only lives matter. The player will always start as small mario. It feels like they half-assed the map feature, unfortunately.
 
Now that I've played it more I can see why you guys have some gripes with the map feature. It could use improvement but the game is definetly better with it than without and I still like it.

Anyway, I came to shill my Mario Maker game. Its only 1 World at the moment and still a big WIP, I eventually want it to be 8. Current world is the snow one, idk if it should be the first world. But if anyone wants to check it out maker ID is GHS 5V0 YNF.
 
So I FINALLY got Mario Maker 2 a few days ago and I've been making levels.

So I'm going to shill them now:

P77-GVB-4GF : This is a level designed to resemble the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. All of the puzzles and traps Indy solves to get to the Holy Grail I translated here...Mario style.

1WX-3TR-3GF : This is a level where you need to be in Starman status as Link for the entire level. The level is filled with spikes and other traps that necessitate reaching the next Starman.

HXK-HT2-J0H : Have you ever read the Godzilla NES Creepypasta? I created a level that references the Q&A levels with Face and the hell scape levels of running from Red. I've tinkered with this one a little bit, and I'm still not happy with my version of Red, but still, if you've read the Creepypasta, you might get a kick out of it.

EDIT: Added some more!

Y7K-B7K-9FG : This level is probably had the most fun making. You scale a giant robot Mecha koopa and enter the control center at the head and defeat the boss inside. The image of Mario making his way up a giant robot weapon was pretty fun to work with in the Maker.

PYD-9RF-M4G : The 3D World format lets the maker use the see through pipes to travel around in the same room of the level, so I couldn't pass up the chance to toy around with making a Pipe maze. It was pretty fun to make, but I think I can do it better in the future.

K95-QRQ-3GG : This one I may have gone a little too far on. Its a boss fight gauntlet as you fight through all the Koopa kids in Clown Cars. You have the Fire Clown car to fight them with, but each room gets progressively harder. No one had beaten it yet, so I think maybe I went too far, lol.
