That was all fairly awful and the only new stuff announced for Gamepass was yet more indie slop.
My cheapo sub is up in November and i might just not bother with another one at this rate. The "best deal in gaming" has gone to shit since the beginning of this year.

Seeing as you never got to keep the games you played, I'd call it a scam from the start. If you're going to give up ownership like that you might as well pirate by that point. Literally nothing stopping you if you don't value the physical good enough to purchase.

I genuinely hope those two keep the ESG nonsense away from Dragon's Dogma 2. The recent investors announcement has me spooked, though.

These "game fests" are spending more time shoving inclusivity by making your personal pronouns more important than actual video games and gameplay. If anything, it would be more surprising if they did not add this to cover the fact that indie gaming is looking more like JRPG rip-offs without any good role playing mechanics.

I can't speak on tech shows in particular, but it's something I've seen crop up in conferences more and more over time. Either a blank space/sticker you write-in or part of a submitted document and they print it onto the pass.

IN A PVP-FOCUSED GAME
i'm not even going to mention "Ironman" and "randomizer"
we all fucking know why those are there
because (say it with me now)
Pokemon did it and these guys have no originality in them
no creativity, no hint of craftsmanship or love
"I like franchise and franchise sell good so me make franchise but """better""" and it sell good too"
that's all they've got
I hope this genre gets its Hollow Knight/Stardew Valley/etc soon
that one really fucking good game that everyone knows and loves
the one that redefines the genre in its own image
the one made with love and passion and true adoration for the craft itself
the one that even people who don't play the genre or even indie games as a whole can recognize by name alone
I'm done just waiting for it, I'm going to attempt it myself, but knowing my track record I doubt my attempt'll be out in the next decade
so I hope and pray that another person comes along and helps shoot some life into this damned genre before then
it doesn't deserve to continue stagnating like this

Slight power level, but went to a conference in the heart of the abyss (San Francisco) and you bet your fucking ass there were pronoun pins (which I binned the moment I got it). This was in 2019. I can only assume it got much worse.

You know I'm interested in Pragmata, it looks like it might have some vague Souls like elements in a sci-fi world. I also like the art style. With that being said the discussion on /v/ is wild. Between the schizos and pedos the community around this game is going to be fucked.
Part of the trailer was them announcing it has been delayed so it is most likely vapourware.
That seems to be becoming a thing again. Dev releases various trailers over 5 or 6 years with no gameplay and then the game just gets quietly cancelled or gets released and ends up being deeply mediocre because it gets stripped down so that they can release something to try to get a part of the dev costs back.

It could be and lets be honest Capcom has form (looking at you Deep Down) but the latest trailer showing some gameplay makes it more likely to be a real game imo. I said I got Souls like vibes but looking at it again I can see some Vanquish or Lost Planet in there.
