I did not know Will Smith was Tarantino's first choice for Django, I can't imagine that film with him in the lead. Foxx was definitely the better choice, but that's an interesting what if.

Eh, I liked Men in Black but even Will's aware his best days as a rapper are behind him. I can definitely imagine him doing some kind of Suicide Squad rap if this film had been made in the previous decade. The fact he's stopped doing his own rap songs is a mixed blessing though - we got Pitbull as his replacement for Men in Black 3 remember.

Many fans were left disappointed by the lack of Jared Leto’s Joker in this summers latest superhero blockbuster, Suicide Squad. However, one fan seems to have taken it one step further – by threatening to take the studio behind the film to court.

The character seemed to dominate much of the film’s marketing in the past few months, seemingly being portrayed as an integral part of the story. When the film was released, however, he was seemingly relegated to flashbacks and the occasional scene. This is obviously due to a lot of his scenes finding their way to the cutting room floor based on a rumored list of deleted scenes which you can findhere.

This didn’t sit right with one fan, who took to Reddit to announce his intention to file a lawsuit against the studio for what he deemed as false advertising:

In his post on the r/movies subreddit he explained how he and his brother, who is in fact a lawyer, intend to sue WB and DC for false advertising, misleading visual images and gaining a profit from us and millions others due to these acts.


Before going on to add:

Suicide Squad trailers showcased several SPECIFIC Joker scenes that I had to pay for the whole movie just so that I can go watch those SPECIFIC SCENES that WB/DC had advertised in their trailers and TV spots. These scenes are: When Joker banged his head on his car window, when Joker says, ”let me show you my toys”, when Joker punchs the roof of his car, when Joker drops a bomb with his face all messed up and says, ”BYE BYE!”. Non of these scenes were in the movie. I drove 300 miles to London to go watch these specific scenes they had explicitly advertised in their TV ads…and they didn’t show them to me.

He also explains how he won’t be a satisfied with deluxe premium special directors gold extended edition supreme cut akin to what Warner Bros. recently did withBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which received an Ultimate Edition when it saw its home release.

Of course, even if he does manage to get this into a court, it’s very unlikely that anything will actually come from it. It isn’t the first time a trailer has mislead an audience and it likely won’t be the last.

WB have their head so far up their asses looking at spreadsheets and test screenings, and demographic pie charts and what the competition is doing they don't even have the balls to just release a movie as it was meant to go as.

I wonder how the executives will try to talk their way out of this before they receive their million dollar severance packages.

I wouldn't be shocked if his shit he did ruined his rep with Hollywood since almost all his costars hate him now, and the Joker gets recast to someone much better.
 
This guy drove 300 miles just to see this movie?

I don't normally advocate pirating, but I'm sure that would have been a MUCH easier and cost efficient alternative than that.

It is a bit sleazy that they showed scenes in the trailer that were cut, but there's no need to sue the guys.
 
lolsuits are a wonderful thing. Just a tip, if you feel like suing someone, hit the books and make sure you can even do it in the first place, before you waste your time and money on something that probably won't make it to court, but probably will make you look like a retard.

Of course, that's assuming you weren't a retard to begin with, silly me.

Why would he drive 300 miles to see what he already saw in the trailer?

Also this lawsuit threat doesn't even deserve any legal analysis, other than to point out that the kind of shit in movie trailers is "pure puffery" like the shit in beer commercials where you suddenly get mobbed by chicks for drinking a beer brand. Nobody reasonable takes this shit seriously.
