Although, I will say I actually did laugh at "Juggalo Justice League"

I honestly hope the movie bombs. WB just needs to burn everything, and restart from the ground up.

They still haven't had a successful, legitimately good movie like the first iron man, or the first avengers

  • Joker and Harley then get into a fight, which ends with Harley pointing a gun at Joker's head. Joker sweet-talks Harley into lowering the gun, charming her, then backhands her across the face. Afterwards he sweet-talks her again and they kiss.
Why do I get a nagging sense that if this scene didn't get cut it would be used in gifs as a sign of relationship goals/signs he truly loves you/more glorification of abusive relationships etc.

Wonder how it will do on Blu Ray/DVD, as Scott Pilgrim bombed at the cinema/theatre but did great on home video

Wait, so they recut scenes to make the Joker/Harley relationship be loving and not abusive? Is the fact that it's abusive the entire point? DC films wants to be "dark and edgy"
and yet THAT'S the part they change?

Most of the Hot Topic crowd has Tumblrs. They can't milk the overpriced tees and hair dye kits if half the demographic boycotts it.

Not sure how to feel about this.

On one hand, a bunch of those scenes would have been great for fleshing out the characters and their relationships. Because frankly, besides Harley and Deadshot, barely any of the other characters got much time to shine. Like, Captain Boomerang could've been taken out of the film and barely anything would change.

On the other hand, the movie we have now is already bloated and very unfocused, so anything more would just drag the film even further.

lol

I genuinely respect Armond White as a critic, and he usually has a good argument for why he likes/doesn't like what he reviews, even though his tastes are sometimes baffling. He's willing to criticize sacred cows (including the, imo, very average Marvel movies, and "socially important" films that he's expected to champion as a black man) and present his genuine opinions (if they actually are genuine) without giving a fuck what general consensus is, and I admire that. He's also a breath of fresh air from the liberal bias of most film critics.

But this one was just weak, and inserted shit into the movie that blatantly wasn't there. His whole "SS is a super duper sekrit deconstruction!!! it's only pretending to be retarded!" thing is poor logic and can be used to handwave criticism of literally any movie. You could turn it right back on him by saying he's wrong about 2016 Ghostbusters since it was actually a brilliant parody of feminism, pleb. You can't use that BS just because you perceive the DC movies to be conservative (even though they aren't), Armond, you need to actually have an argument.

Then again, this was the guy who white knighted the Resident Evil movies, so maybe I'll never understand him. Or maybe he is just trolling.

Either way, MOM'S GONNA FREAK, and yall niggas need to post more salt.

I saw the movie last night for free, and it was just... okay? Not bad, not good. Just a mediocre popcorn movie.

Definitely doesn't deserve all the attention it's getting, positive or negative.

Seriously. I feel like nothing fucking happened in this movie, like what marvel is doing with Avengers except its even lacking the fun exchanges and flashes of personality between characters It didnt feel bloated to me it felt empty. All the characters but harley, the wall and deadshot were wasted. Taking out scenes that highlight how abusive the joker is just saddens me. Harley and jokers relationship felt like two crazy people in love for whatever reason and it came out as out of character for joker to be chasing her. The only scene that hinted their abusive relationship was joker straight up ditching her after they crashed the car, this shit is going to fuel more shit couple running around at cons thinking Harley and the Joker are wacky couple goals. I liked Diablo, he was sempathetic. Katana, Croc, and Boomerang had barely any line or hints to their characters which for people who don't read the comics give them no need to care for them. I left apathetic and I love DCComics. It felt comicbooky like a boring arch that you hopes goes somewhere but just fizzles out. Warner needs to put new editors on DC Films if they want the DCCU to go anywhere. They're killing the potential these films have and I think they have a good bit of it after watching the uncut BVS. The editing and 500 reshoots fucked potiental in BVS and it looks like they straight up over cut everything of meaningful substance in this.

I'm pretty sure there's a thread for spazzing about Jared Leto's spaz Joker over in multimedia for that stuff.

Indeed there was a lot of outcry once the Jared Leto Joker was revealed, and his acting in the trailer was basically was a knockoff of the Heath Ledger Joker. However, as cool as the trailer was, I could tell that it was probably going to suck because they would spend a huge amount of time on origin stories (and from the sounds of it, they did).

Because he's really not that talented of an actor. Most of the "good" Will Smith movies either had a fantastic script or amazing co stars. They weren't good because of him.
Let's not forget that Will Smith wasn't even originally an actor. He rose to fame as an actor after NBC picked a bankrupt rapper to attach to a new TV show they were doing (that was of course, Will Smith and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). The other part of the problem is that he's just not cut out for dramatic roles.

So, are we watching Juggalo Justice League for Movie Night this week?

They should have cut the idiot who's only superpower is throwing a boomerang. What Orgazmo and Calendar man weren't available?
While I haven't seen the movie yet, I will say that in the comics Captain Boomerang is pretty cool. I mean not as in he has cool abilities or anything, he's just a massive asshole at all times and is more or less just there to take up space. I have a soft spot for characters who are just assholes for no real reason.

Since there's absolutely no directors cut from what I heard, and likely not many extras like Marvel blurays usually have it'll not do well at all digitally or physically I think.

He's a damn fool who didn't accept a Tarantino role for whatever reason. If there's one thing Tarantino is good at its taking medicore actors and giving them a chance to shine. He's whining about not having a Oscar, but not accepting roles like that is why he doesn't have a Oscar yet. Plus he's just a lowkey nutcase.

I know people are praising him in this movie, and Harley Quinn's actress despite her atrocious and sloppy attempt at an American accent, but Will Smith looks too damn old and he's just playing the same character he always plays again. His performance in this film reminded me of his character in Bad Boys, just old and grumpy.

He's not charasmatic and entertaining enough, I think. He wants a superhero role so badly he did this and that movie Hancock, but both have failed.

This was longer than I intended, but this movie is a huge trainwreck. Likely the biggest one I've ever seen, movie wise.

As I understand it, the reason Will Smith turned down the Django role was because Will Smith read the script and felt Christoph Waltz's character was the real hero and Django was second fiddle. Never mind that Dr. King Schultz was a well-acted but two dimensional character that was just a rocket booster for Django and I didn't even know his name until I looked it up on IMDB.

Anyway Will Smith only plays the "hero", so Will Smith refused the part. So Quentin Tarantino had to get a much better but less popular actor instead.
