This thread is having the same problem that the star wars thread did, post funny things about retarded nerds mad about a stupid movie or make a thread in offtopic about your comic book obsessions and post in that.

I'm pretty sure there's a thread for spazzing about Jared Leto's spaz Joker over in multimedia for that stuff.

I slightly disagree even with that. I don't think it's about camp and I don't think it's about being silly, I think that people need to be able to read the comics or watch the movies and come away with a good feeling-that there were heroes, there were villains, the villains did bad things and the hero saved the day. We can all leave feeling happy when the good guy punches the bad guy a lot. Silly movies can accomplish that-look at Guardians of the Galaxy, it took itself seriously for about 5 minutes, then Chris Pratt started dancing through ancient ruins. Look at Ant-Man, it was funny, but there was also a big bad guy that needed punching, and lots of it.

If we got an Aquaman movie where he stuck to his characterization in Brave and the Bold, where he was a loud and boisterous bruiser style of character, I think it would be pretty well received. Just imagine like 20 bad guys coming up to Aquaman and he shouts "why, I'll take you ALL on!" and then there's a big fight scene, that would be fun!

Bottom line, superheroes need to be fun. Because people like fun.

You can have a campy movie/show that's also good comics-style fun. Like, the Flash is really silly but people still got really attached to the characters and the story. The first Captain America movie had a lot of campy moments, but it was a blast.

Basically, you just have to go with what makes the original characters fun. Batman is dark and moody, Superman punches giant robots and saves Lois Lane.

All the salt comes from the fanboys who are butthurt that DC struggles with adapting even their big name superheroes when Marvel has successfully gotten their minor superheroes on the big screen.

There's a reason she was the main focus of the movie's marketing campaign. Thirsty nerds are gonna thirst.
N-no you misogynistic piece of shit! She's a strong independent womyn who isn't afraid to show her sexuality! She's not an object for you to drool over! They played "You don't own me" over her scenes in the trailer, that proves it! No, I don't care it was over scenes of her half-naked, she's a strong independent womyn dammit!!!

I was at the drugstore today and saw that Splat has been marketing a duo-dye pink/blue box so you can have hair JUST LIKE HARLEY'S!!!

The pissiness at RottenTomatoes makes me laugh. Okay, so reviewers don't like the movie you nerds, go see it yourself and post a review there. There's a number of movies on rottentomatoes with inverse reviewer/moviegoer percentages.

Then again I grew up reading movie reviews out of a newspaper, and the guy they had hated anything that wasn't shown in the tiny art house theater in the campus area. If it wasn't European with subtitles it was trash. So I knew if he gave it a one or two stars it might be entertaining.

i've heard whisperings that an organization of these movie reviewers, a cinematic equivalent to GameJournoPros, conspired to blast Suicide Squad in "retaliation" for the Ghostbusters film's overwhelmingly negative reception (which was exacerbated by Harambe and hamfisted groaners like this); this is meant as an attempt to embarrass or demoralize their mortal enemies, the "Gamer" crowd, which naturally has a lot of overlap with comic book nerds.

"ludicrous," i thought initially. "that would be a petty and insane thing for a collusion of grown men to do, and it's not even going to work. nobody is gay or stupid enough to take the bait and yell about this." and then i saw the TAKE THOSE ROTTEN TOMATOES OFF THE GODDAMN INTERNET petition and this thread

Superman= Cheesy Cornball Superhero

Yes, but he is the ULTIMATE cheesy cornball superhero. People don't put up with shitty versions of Superman. People absolutely love this character and get assblasted beyond belief if you fuck him up.

Also someone suggested these threads should just be multimedia threads anyway, including the Ghostbusters Salt one. They're not remotely about communities, they're just sperging about whatever media there is.

Shall I move them?

What evidence is there for critics colluding to badmouth a film?

"It's a Really great movies" pardon me if I dont feel inclined to believe you honey.

I was hoping for more salt from Will Smith's camp, especially because his wife seems to think racism is the only reason why people refused to pay ten bucks to see "Will Smith Tries to Stay Relevant: The Movie"

SJWs would be all over this movie cause "black man leads a team" "strong womyn are members" "mentally ill representation!!!! muh POCs!!!"

I'm really surprised i've barely seen them defending this film on tumblr or whatever. then again, this film doesn't attract the MRA like Ghostbusters did...

i am proud of you for eyeing the chatter on this site with skepticism. i have my ear to the ground about such things, and the pals of mine who work in the popcorn and popcorn accessories bidness are of the impression that something hasn't smelled right since the Ghostbusters fiasco, and the negative press that Suicide Squad is receiving is unwarranted in to the extreme! and nobody is certain of the cause - except that it doesn't appear to be the film itself.

the critical reception on Rotten Tomatoes alone places the film below such disorganized "artsy" clusterfucks as Gummo and Trash Humpers, films which only sat well with hipsters and fans of director Harmony Korine (but i repeat myself). and i'm not the only person who'll be floored if Suicide Squad is worse than The Legend of Tarzan, let alone Batfleck v. Superman: Dawn of Dishsoap, which coincidentally also sits at 27% now despite its solidly lukewarm reception by moviegoers.

a lot of careers in journalism ride on subservience to one of dozens of SJW taskmasters, which is something we've been hearing about for years. don't be surprised if the recent trend of journalists conspicuously disagreeing with the audience over nerd-targeted films with male leads versus nerd-targeted films with STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMYN turns out to be more spillover from Gamergate. but also don't be surprised if it's just autism as usual.

/tv/ is going absolutely insane over this.
haha nice, show us some caps

Probably a good idea. The salt from hardcore fans (from any multimedia) die after a little while.
GB spergs will give content for a few more weeks but then they'll stop and eventually let Suicide Squad spergs take over, when Suicide Squad is no longer relevant, I'm pretty sure another salty fans group will take over and so on and so on. So if we have all this in one PLACE (edit), the last pages will always be updated with the current salty fans which I think is preferable than having dead threads with a couple of pages long all over.
Just my opinion though.

Back to topic:
I really don't understand these salty people, I mean, even if the movie is actually bad, the main target audience is the fans themselves, which are the ones that are going to watch the movie regardless of what anyone says and will like it. So, what they expect to win by trying to convince people that the movie is good and bash anyone who says otherwise?, brownie points for DC sempai?. I know, I know, the answer is always :autism: .

Because they think its 'ableist' to be 'omg I'm so crazy' when it's just shit that was better left in the early 2000s.
