"Connie is just a cartoon"
:agree:

"That's really obnoxious"
Also :agree:

"You just hate gay people"
Ah yes tumblr. Where brain cells go when they want to kill themselves.

Are these still going on? I was laughing at SU critical blogs a year ago. I thought they all moved on since it's unanimous that SU has jumped the shark.

Darkskinnedprivilege I know a bit of backstory about, they're a cow on their own. Connections to all of IDCPs old blogs and to my knowledge still interacts. Was a part of discord chats that would make fun of blogs and virtue signalling like fuck. Former friends with a cow I ousted in the BPD thread, who was called out for yellowface and general narcissistic actions.

Lion knows a bit more about this and the crowd of SU spergfags. Tag them if you'd like.

The atrocious art of SU deserves all the mockery it gets but to say everything the show does is racist? Lol pls, this is social justice the animated series.

how the fuck is disliking tuna on the same level as killing people...

I don't know, I don't speak autism.

It's a shame that the arc's message of "killing people is wrong no matter how much you think they deserve it" has become controversial. With fucking liberals, no less- y'know, the same people typically advocating against the death penalty.

Yeah, the crazies are starting to get bored of Steven Universe and Voltron; the cancer has now begun to spread to OK KO, BNHA, Star Wars, and Stranger Things.

(1) OK KO, (2) BNHA, (3) Star Wars

(1) That show has an even worse and more constantly inconsistent art(style) presentation than SU, so of course Tumblrfags will gravitate toward it - just more asspats for shitty fan art.

(2) Eh... Not surprised. That's what anime does to people.

(3) Well, this franchise only really caters to SJWs, now - so it's not a surprise normies are all but done with it (and that was before the EU got the shaft...).

What, because they put a chick and a black dude in it? Diversity has zero to do with Star Wars fatigue.

Star Wars has turned into a focus-grouped corporate monolith. What the new movies gained in technical quality (compared to the prequels), they lost in passion and originality. People are just finally catching on to the fact that they're not consuming art, but being cynically pandered to by a corporation.

That explains so much. Far too much.

Honestly, I think that the movies could be improved by lowering the production values and making the special effects look like they did in 1977. Then it'd be the sorta "B movie" series it always should have been.

Autism over cartoons and tv shows has become an epidemic

So should I turn this thread into focusing on critical communities in general, opposed to just Steven Universe?

Go right ahead. But first... One more quote - only because it felt good to let some anger out at some stupidity for once.

Some Random SU Fantard said:
For some reason, a lot of people on Twitter are going on about how bad Steven Universe's animation is because of how constantly it goes off model, and that a number of characters have drastically changed in size over time. I personally don't get why this is a problem for many.

Maybe it's because inconsistent art styles make a show unpleasant to watch after too long and it shows a severe lack of skill from those who made it..... Duh.

Correct. The first season was a near masterpeice in storytelling and the writing continues to be some of the best in western animation. But sjws hijacked it and the staff, for some reason, decided to encourage that.

To be fair to the show crew, when one staff member on the show decided for themselves that Peridot & Lapis should be a couple. They were told to cut it out, then given the ol' "Gardening leave" for continuing. (can be seen in OP's post bragging about their involvement and suggesting she should of given Peridot a fidget spinner obsession)

Part of it is that the show crew are naturally all progressive types that want to be inclusive, but are fighting against where they want the story to go, trusting the crew, as well as riding out the salt produced if they choose an unpopular story route. To Sugar and her core teams credit at least, the show has managed to be fairly open when dealing with challenging characters - rather than devolving into "well obviously x is bad because strawman"

That said the whole things gotten itself muddled with the whole "sins of the mother" plot. The last batch of episodes felt like the team wrote themselves into an awkward corner as they redo Character Development that's already been covered at this point.

Ah yes who could forget such powerful, thought-provoking stories like Cheeseburger Backpack or Cat Fingers or Arcade Mania.

Did we watch the same show? Yes season 1 had some great moments but to call it "a near masterpiece in storytelling" is to ignore at least 50% of that season.

This show was always boring comedy with barely any bright spots, in terms of actual conflict/action, from what I've watched/re-watched.
