Is there actually even a single child who watches Steven Genderverse?

Go on any site like Pixiv, Deviant art, etc. The answer will make you cry.

Actually, the real question is why are kids watching TTG! and Total Dramarama over Steven Genderverse, instead!

Dumb teenagers acting like kids don't count.

Too true - that means the kids really do like TTG! (and as of late, Total Dramarama) more, according to the ratings that one can believe. Not my up of tea, but I'm NOT standing in their way of what they rather watch, honestly - and who can blame them.

I wish I had an example off this offhand from Twitter or Instagram, but I've seen a number of young parents or to-be parents saying that they want to "raise their child on a diet of Steven Universe" so their kids "get all the right morals" or whatever.

The kids who are watching Steven Universe are apparently only doing it because mommy and daddy are jacked up on stupidjuice and wont let little Timmy watch anything else.

Sounds like child abuse tbh.

You wanna know how little children care about Steven Universe?

A year or two ago, one of Disney XD aired an episode of Star vs. that featured a gay couple kissing in the distant background, so distant that hardly anyone noticed upon initial airing until some clickbait writer decided to slap together an article about how far Disney has come when not too long ago they barred on of their other shows of the same thing. Not long after, Disney’s television division was bombarded with angry responses from soccer mom organizations like One Million Moms threatening to boycott their network, and eventually conceded by either cutting the episode to no longer feature that background gay couple or just stopped broadcasting that episode in reruns.

In that same time frame, Steven Universe has featured several full foreground gay kisses and a indisputably gay wedding, yet those same organizations have never once made any sort of stink about those episodes or the show. In fact, it’s hard to tell if such organizations even know Steven Universe exists since there’s not even a passing mention of it anywhere on their website as a show to avoid. Because soccer moms only give a shit about shows kids actually enjoy watching.

That’s kind of the crux of things like SU Critical, honestly: despite claims that it was made with kids in mind, the median age of SU fans is somewhere around 19-22, and there’s so few viewers under the age of 13 that they’re almost statistically insignificant in terms of the demographic. So whether they like it or not, a lot of the Tumblrina Steven Universe were pretty much their bread and butter, and likely the only reason Sugar was able to get 5 seasons at all. But then at the same time SU’s presented in a way that younger audiences won’t find engaging, but presents morals and virtues that the older audience they attracted can’t help but notice glaring flaws in due to the lack of nuance and over-simplified views on rather adult concepts. The show was a perfect breeding ground for these kinds of autistic fans and slap fights honestly.

I've watched about none of it, but the reviled "Steven Bombs" are another thing. Kids watch what's on TV but it's usually adults who binge watch things.

Come to think of it I've never seen a kid wearing Steven Universe merch. I've also never seen a toy section that carries Steven Universe stuff, at least not that I can remember. I'm mainly talking about stores like Target and Walmart.

Walmart and Target only recently carry SU merch in extremely small quantities, but it's that horrifying Steven plush or some gacha shit. Kids don't want that.

... There's a horrifying Steven plush? Lemme just look that up real quick and-

Oof.

Those plushies are going to show up in my nightmares.

The plush dolls of Lion are the only ones that appear to look decent, but considering Lion's design just makes him look like a big, stuffed animal in the first place, that's not that hard to fuck up.
