I do minor hobby recording / editing and have become very comfortable with it. I don't understand how someone can make a living doing these kind of things and find stuff like transferring files difficult.
 
What I find odd about this is he acts like doing these things is so easy and makes fun of people who thinks it's hard, calling them whiny and lazy. He has said numerous times that he has such an easy job and is extremely condscending about people's cell phone and computer usage. I've never seen anyone criticize his gardening, he doesn't have to be a jerk about what other people enjoy.

There's some weird points in this video, he broke the laptop (why on earth is he still using a laptop for his business at this point?), had no backups of the last couple weeks files, doesn't know how to transfer data from a hard drive, wants to use the money on an expensive pre-made alienware gaming laptop, and can't pay for any of it because he paid taxes (he claims 20K) and is 'financially supporting others' (he lives like a hermit and runs a business with almost no operating cost, how does he not have any rainy day fund at this point?).

Ironically, for someone so dependent on computers to make his living, he seems to have a very poor understanding of even the basic things that could directly affect his job. I just found this whole situation odd, not suspicious, just odd.

He's kind of handsome in natural light and sans beard. He should get some less dorky glasses.
 
As long as he does that old-laptop-attached-to-ceiling-fan-spoon-clankatron thingy it's probably going to be worth every cent of that 4200$.

It's not as uncommon as you could think. Many people who are quite depending on computers for a living are ignorant of how to take care of them, do backups, tech support and all of that. Until something bad happens.
 
The dude doesn't put away his taxes throughout the year? Not very fiscally responsible.
 

Tarl is going on vacation. And like he says in the video, this just means he makes three videos a day instead of four. Or sometimes he just makes his usual amount of videos anyway. In terms of release schedule he's just about the perfect producer.

What a vacation, I wish other youtubers I followed had the same release cadence. Of course Styx talks at a camera so it's apples to oranges.
 
This is like two months of me losing respect for Tarl.

Emo posts, hair dying, lives with parents, breaks his laptop and says he won't be able to afford a new one for awhile but he is a successful writer/editor/youtuber.

I can't help but wonder if he broke his laptop by furiously casting it to the ground after his ex posted pictures of her new man Sergei Communyzt.
