First time I seen a defense of Tarl as a harmless intoxicated individual in the Quartering thread seems rather suspicious. It appears to downplay the seriousness of his violent behavior, which included making threats with a firearm that discharged. That cat died in February. Are vets in the habit of holding dead cats hostage in their freezer for months? The GFM was made in April. There have been 3 donations in total all within the last 17 hrs. Styx is doing her a solid for himself. He has reached a new low. He necro’d her GFM because he’s destitute and 3,500 dollars gets him a pretty spiffy new laptop and many cans of spaghetti-Os. Desperate and diabolical.
Sadly it's not uncommon. I had a friend, his cat got run over in the parking lot of his apartment complex at two in the morning, he rushed it down to the 24 hour vet. There wasn't any saving it, but it's hard dealing with something so suddenly. He had it (the cat was a darling, he was an orange tabby, like Garfield) put down. The vet wouldn't release the body until he paid the $300 for the X-ray and euthanasia. We were all broke kids at the time so it took him a couple days to get the money together.

The only way I could see it being anywhere close is if the cat's being buried in an actual pet cemetery. My through research (Grok) shows that it could be as high as $4,000 in New York, which is crazy.

Girl, I feel that. I’ve had cats all my life. My dad is a cat lover and a sucker. Every neighborhood we lived in growing up, the cats immediately knew where to go. He has an entire cat army living on his property in Utah right now and he will spare no expense to keep them healthy and happy. He has even built cat warmers for the strays that need a place to stay in the winter. Bless his heart.
I’m more on the pro-euthanasia side. I don’t know that it’s right to blow thousands to keep a cat or a person for that matter alive when they’re very old and it’s hopeless, ya know? Death is just a natural process. I think a peaceful and dignified death is far more loving than the struggle of keeping old or sick pets (and people too) alive.
But I’ve had two cats in my lifetime including the one I have now that really grabbed hold of my meow meow. Of course pet owners love all their pets, but some of them just really form a special with you. My girl just turned 5 and I’m already like nooooooo another year has passed! I need at least 10 more years. She’s so special. It’s going to break me when she goes. But I try to console myself with the fact that I gave her a safe and happy home. I have a lot of love to give and there are many more cats that will also need safe and happy homes.

The whole dead cat debacle reminds me of a time that I drove my friend's girlfriend's dead cat out of a city and buried it in the woods un a spot i was familiar with.
