I use Squid brand fish sauce from the Asian market. Fuck only knows what's in it (squid?).
It's pretty fun to buy mystery ingredients from the Asian market and figure out how to use them. I actually bought what I thought was rice winegar and it turned out to be chinese cooking wine. I use it in General Tao Chicken.

I like to use Red Boat for simple dishes where fish sauce is a predominant flavor, and Squid for curries and dishes with a lot of powerful aromatics. Red Boat has a rounded flavor profile, Squid is sharper, and Tarl is still a faggot. A really boring faggot.

It appears to downplay the seriousness of his violent behavior, which included making threats with a firearm that discharged.
