True enough, but nevertheless, it happened anyway due to Home Truth #1, NOBODY PROMISED YOU FAIR. People get their shit stolen every day; I doubt there's anybody on this entire site who hasn't had something stolen from them. Nobody is immune.

For the love of God, Sam, I don't understand why I have to spell this out explicitly, but you are not the only person in this thread who's been fucked over by an abusive partner and their own serious mental illness. Tarl's a massive faggot who very obviously exploited you, but he is literally never going to change. Even if by some miracle he did recognize how much harm he's inflicted on others, it's probably too catastrophic for him to do anything meaningful to set things right. You, on the other hand, have some degree of control over your own future and the future of your children.

I get that we're maybe not the friendliest group of people you could be talking to, but I've seen you dismiss multiple posts that were sincerely telling you to get some goddamn help. One or two of those have been from me, and believe it or not, I'm actually not trying to call you crazy. I have more experience with BPD than probably anyone else in this thread, and I truly, sincerely believe that you need to be evaluated by a competent mental health professional. If you've seen a therapist and they haven't been at all concerned, then you need to talk to a different one. Not all therapists are created equal, and an unfortunate percentage are clinical social workers with only a limited academic background in abnormal psychology. Anyone who let you walk out of their office without at least discussing a later appointment for an in-depth evaluation has a degree that could be better used as toilet paper.

You aren't to blame for everything that happened to you, and you aren't going to be able to recover from it on your own. If someone were to try to help you right now, though, they'd either have to give up and cut their losses, or they'd be dragged down with you until you both ended up in an even worse state than the one that you're in currently. That sucks, but it's true. It doesn't have to stay that way, but currently you are incredibly self-destructive, and someone trying to save you while you're still sabotaging yourself would be tearing apart their own ship to rescue a drowning victim by filling in the ocean. You've got to take an active role in your own recovery, or it won't happen.
 
Going to be doing a live stream today at 8 pm EST where I'll be, in addition to other subjects, discussing some things about Tarl's past. Would appreciate it if anyone who is more familiar about this fellows lore than I would pop in, and let me know where I might be mistaken, or add some info/context where my knowledge might be lacking.
