Lady, colorism was invented by mutts who lacking a reliable pedigree to rely on noticed that fellow mutts with lighter coloration(due to having more White admixture) were smarter and more trustworthy than darker mutts.
The White Man had pedigree-based heuristics and in America there even was the one drop rule which is the opposite of colorism where a Blonde Blue-Eyed Southerner with 1/32 Negro blood was a Negro.
