I don’t know why people find this pic funny, that thing is evil. Our world is run by satanic pedophiles so seeing them performing rituals sends a chill down my spine.
Aquino's actually a pretty good example of why this particular conspiracy theory almost certainly
isn't true.
From 1980 through the 1990s, a wave of accusations of Satanic/Sadistic Ritual Abuse swept the US and UK, mostly targeting daycare workers, elementary school teachers, etc. Virtually none of these people had any actual connection to the Occult, and virtually none were ever convicted of the crimes they were accused of. Often, this was because the accusations were bizarre and impossible, made by children who were inadvertently coached by investigators and other adults. Aquino was the only individual I know of who was caught up in this and
actually had any known ties to Satanism. He was also one of very few who was a complete rat bastard, and several of the children involved were deemed to show signs of abuse, although I'm uncertain how reliable this claim is. Children were often found to have "signs of abuse" during the Satanic Panic that would be considered extremely unreliable now. If you look into Aquino's eyes, they
do kinda scream "Diddler", but innocent people had their lives ruined over similar 'evidence', so it has to be taken with a whole-ass mine of salt.
The case was dropped due to insufficient evidence, which sounds suspicious if you don't have an extensive familiarity with what happens when people embarrass secretive individuals or groups with near-absolute power. I do, though, and while I'm not going to rule out the possibility that he did it (again, total rat bastard), if he did then he didn't have anywhere near the level of power assigned to him by theories of a Satanist cabal. The police actually, publicly investigated the case and even reported (possibly very ambiguous) evidence of mistreatment or molestation. In the aftermath Aquino may not have faced any consequences, but neither did his accusers. If these conspiracies were real, then news of the accusations would have either been supressed if possible, or the people making them would have been roundly discredited if it managed to get out before that happened. Some - probably most - of his accusers are still alive and well. If Aquino actually held the power that some people believe, then those same people would be very lucky if they were six feet under right now. Death puts you beyond the reach of absolute temporal power, and you really fucking want to be out of reach if you poke that bear. There are much, much worse things than death, and Aquino...yeah. Aquino may have literally been a Sperg, a lot of people like him are, but he had a brilliant mind even if that mind took shit too literally, couldn't quite get socially appropriate eye contact, and hyperfixated on Egyptology. He could have created Hell on Earth for those people. He didn't. He just continued being weird until he died surrounded by family and friends in 2019, rather than being execited for crimes against humanity like he deserved.
The picture is funny because it shows that he was a weirdo. Weirdos are human. Aquino wasn't some unstoppable, unfeeling force filled with unholy majesty, he was a LARPer with caterpillars for eyebrows who happened to be both intellectually brilliant and well-positioned socially to attain a position of influence. Compared to Tarl, he might look like the butt-love-child of Don Juan and Sun Tzu, but that bar is so deep underground that the heat and pressure cause silicate minerals to take on exotic forms difficult to simulate in a laboratory. The fact that he's better than Tarl is like saying that the Holodomor was better than the Holocaust. Both Aquino and Tarl are shamefully voluntary affronts to the very concept of innate human dignity.
