all right everyone it's time to talk about conformity and how stupid it is by the way my apologies the other uploads were muted for some unknown reason conformity is absolutely stupid the idea of conforming is basically nothing more than being a little being a trained dog a domesticated animal you're trained you're given a treat if you do what's good you're spanked if you do what's bad that's basically what conformity is i feel sorry for people that have no choice you know in order to make ends meet uh but to go to the uh the office every day and occasionally they get to go to the water cooler or something like that and I think that must be a sad existence no offense to anyone in that existence i can understand i'm not looking down on you i'm looking down on the people that have created the necessity of that existence so to speak um conformity is something that I've never really been good at when I was a kid a very little kid I was always the class clown i'm the real life version of Carlos from Magic School Bus so to speak i was always making wise cracks and playing pranks and stuff like that i remember when I had uh they had this uh one toy once and I thought this one was hilarious it was like it said rattlesnake eggs and it had like a twist up thing inside of it the idea was you would hand it to someone and you'd say "Look I got rattlesnake eggs and then when they opened it up it would you know actually feel like it was rattling and they'd get freaked out." I've done all sorts of crazy just the other day uh we I was with uh Lev and my friend at the restaurant it was a Thai restaurant and I had the squid soup because oh god it was delicious and uh I took out one of the little octopuses or squids or whatever it was and went I talked about it the other day it was funny she almost fell out of her chair uh this was hysterical to me i have never stopped being helen for a while though I've been more into more dry analytic sort of political stuff but my first break really even before Sargon shouted me out with due diligence which is a good video by the way he shouted out a bunch of other people and practically made several careers out of it um before that I was mainly known for using drugs more than anything else so I don't believe in conforming conformity essentially is nothing more than following the rules that other people have made for you following the rules of whatever culture you happen to be in so for example in one country it is you know punishable by death potentially i think in Singapore and a few other countries Malaysia I believe it's punishable by death if you simply smoke marijuana in other places if you smoke marijuana it's considered acceptable cocoa the use of cocoa for example u cocoa leaves which are stimulant it's a precursor to cocaine in some countries they are highly illegal in some cases in a few countries they're not only legal but they're used fairly regularly the usage of heroin think about the sign of the times heroin and cocaine by the way too were used as topical medicines back a hundred years ago most people don't recognize this because they haven't studied the uh literature with regards to herbal uh lore and things like that herbal medicine um they were used frequently actually cocaine was literally used in diluted form of course for teething in infants back in the 1910s it is now highly illegal to possess cocaine at all before then it was conceived of as a medicine this is in the age of organic medicine generally speaking uh and the list goes on and on and on as far as conforming conformity i'm not going to do it anymore i'm going to be as crazy as possible actually from here on out because number one it's more fun and there's no reason to live if you can't have fun number two there's no way to conform the standards are ever changing here's the other problem what goes in one generation no longer goes in the next so go 10 years from now and see what things we believe in that are no longer believed in what things that are done that are no longer done what things that aren't done that are done it's going to be quite a load i've seen this myself i've lived long enough to see this transition between generations so there's no reason to conform there's no reason to be normal because there's nothing normal doesn't exist basically uh because it changes constantly and so uh you know like the kind of music the kind of foods the kind of culture the kind of politics the kind of society all of these things change constantly there's no reason to conform nobody has given me a genuine impetus to actually conform to society at all because conforming ing now will just make me boring or eradical 10 years from now oh then why should I not just do whatever I want i think that that's a much better decision actually so I'm going to listen to a some GG Allen later and just sack out and do whatever I want i'm going to eat whatever I want i'm going to sleep whenever I want it doesn't make any difference it's uh totally up to you i believe in fierce independence and fierce loyalty and that's basically the only thing that I believe in actually that's about all peace out
all right everyone i wanted to talk today about insanity and sanity and how they are technically illusions actually more than anything else they're effectively culturally based for example you see the story of johnny apples seed native americans uh in in some groups they believe the people that were you know what we would call delusional were actually gifted they were considered shaman and beyond reproach in some cases actually johnny apples seed wore a pot on his head when he was mumbling to himself and planting uh apple seeds that's why he's called johnny apple seed this is apparently a true story this is apparently not just folklore it's actually real um and so they left him alone because they thought this is a person who's a gifted individual what we would call schizophrenia or delusions or something like that actually was considered gifted in some of these societies and so ultimately what we call mental illness which is a term that i generally don't even like to use or delusions um insanity and so forth in some cultures were considered perfectly normal for example we would consider eating the corpse of your dead relative generally speaking to be a bad thing now for medical reasons of course i would agree with this but for any cultural or ethical reasons other cultures believe that it is not only uh acceptable but in some cases of import i prefer to divert to pragmatism um based on in many cases medical understanding and things like that uh as opposed to religion and again i'm reminded that of course some people think that they're drinking the blood of jesus christ when they go to communion and so sanity and insanity effectively are nothing more than civic constructs it's what the society happens to believe in and there are subs societies too for example um the early christian movement was considered effectively insane by the pagan romans latter days the paganism was considered insane by the christians it basically just depends on who happens to be in control at the time could be civic could be religious could be a mixture of the two that tends to be effectively what you get i would say that it's better to be pragmatic but again this is just my opinion i believe in survivability that's why i believe in independence and things like that but this is just my opinion ultimately so insanity can effectively be described as a deviation from whatever construct happens to exist at the time again not to get lefttoid on you but bear with me that construct in some cases can be very very far-left if you have a communist society um i think that east germany is probably the best example for example um in east germany the kgb could come into your house and rearrange your furniture and then diagnose you with schizophrenia if you complained about it in any way you knew that the kgb was in your house but they would declare you to be insane simply because you noticed the fact that somebody clearly had come into your house and rearranged everything uh this was done to political dissident on an irregular basis so what is insanity again it's conformity more than anything else if you conform to the social customs and to the law and things like that you will not be declared insane if you deviate from them in any significant way you're declared insane um there's also another example i've noticed and some of you may have noticed this as well if a person is poor and unskilled and they show elements of you know mental illness they're considered mentally ill if a person is rich and has skills of any kind they're considered merely eccentric it's a little bit of a differentiation between the two it's the same concept it could even be the same behaviors but because of the socioeconomic status and because of the level of skill person who has a lot of skills maybe they're rhetorically talented maybe they're really really good at carpentry it doesn't really matter and that they have to have some degree of wealth they'll be considered an eccentric well you don't have ocd you just really really like collecting this sort of object you know ceramic frogs or something like that well you're just an eccentric if somebody who is poor does that if somebody who is relatively you know they're flipping burgers for a living uh and they collect the ceramic frogs then you've got ocd my god you know you got to cut it out adhd is another great example adhd is really just kids don't want to sit still for hours at a time that's basically all it is depression another great example who wouldn't be depressed in this society unless again they have significant means and apparently uh peak happiness happens around when you're making 75k or thereabouts when you make more than that you tend to spend over your means and that makes you depressed making less than that you can't pay the bills and so you are depressed i think that most of the population effectively is what we would consider clinically depressed but it means nothing sanity and insanity technically speaking are illusions what it means to be sane is to conform to societal standards what it means to be insane is to nonconform societal standards not necessarily you know a little bit uh that's tolerated but to any considerable extent uh the more and more you do so you're considered nuts basically you're considered to have gone mad uh this is very very intriguing to me actually this is an anthropological video by the way more than anything else anthropology and psychology the latter of which is uh fairly indefinite actually um very very interesting that's about all peace out

Is it possible to update the subtitle of this thread? It doesn't really make sense that we're still complimenting his content when the quality of it has been on a downward trajectory for a long time now. "Conforming is Stupid" says the sarcastic pirate edgelord with the maturity of a 15 year old? Hard hitting stuff! His decline is interesting for sure, hence why I'm here, but this guy (for his archetype anyway) is as banal and predictable as it gets.

Death is a bit extreme punishment for smoking weed, I agree, but nevertheless, if you look at the drug's physical and psychological effects, it has a lot of negative side effects, which in my opinion outweigh the benefits of using it, as I think is the same - more or less - for every drug used recreationally.
Coca leaves, cocaine, used to be popular in medicine in the past, so that means they're good, nothing bad about them at all? People don't recognize this? I don't think anyone doesn't know or recognize that they were used in medicine in the past, but we've since found out about the many negative side effects of cocaine and heroin and have stopped using it. Does that mean nothing? Is it okay to feed infants cocaine? Yes, according to styx.
Also "the age of organic medicine" LOL, as if organic means it's all good and healthy, in reality most plants are toxic and some even deadly. There's nothing like some nice tasty organic Amanitas, right Styx? Chop them up and put them onto your pizza. Just don't call me when you need a liver transplant, I won't be donating you my liver.

There is a way to conform but you just said you don't want to. The standards are ever changing, yes, but that doesn't stop people from chasing them and trying to conform all the time. I agree, those people that always just conform and keep up with the "current thing" aren't principled or smart at all, they're just followers, sheep, lots of them do it for virtue signalling and narcissistic satisfaction. But we know all that for a long time, that doesn't mean that there's nothing good at all about the moral, social and behavioral standards that people agree upon, it just means that a certain subset of people use it for narcissistic and opressive means, but they are a separate group to the group that agrees upon standards of normality that sane, smart people agree upon. For example, using your own example, the use of cocaine and heroin wasn't seen as controversial in certain social circles in the past, it was used as medicine and even given to infants, but that was before they knew better, after they found out the negative side effects they normally stopped using it, so at that time, the social consensus changed from cocaine and heroin being good to it being bad. How is that hard to understand or even to follow or conform to? Are you a normal human being with a functioning brain that's capable of learning new things? Then you're capable of learning "seems like this thing has more negative than positive effects so I should stop using it and stop telling other people it's good". But I guess that's hard to expect from a drug addict.

Not an unreasonable position, really. Society has really decayed so far with the extreme liberalism, gender wars, scammers, thieves and murderers leading our countries, stealing our money with taxes and inflation, waging a genocide against us, for a white male, conforming to this society will give you nothing worth living for, no freedom, no family, no loyal partner, no justice. But that doesn't mean that *all* morality is bad, it just means that the current social orthodoxy, as enforced by the current people in power, is bad. There have certainly existed better and fairer societies in the past, and if one were to come along today, or if we did the hard work to make such a society today, we would again have a reason to conform to it, as it would give us more benefit than not conforming. If a society came along whose social consensus agreed with all your opinions, would you still be nonconformist and disagree with it? No, you'd align with it and conform to it.
Do whatever you want but actions have consequences. I feel like I'm talking to a teenager going through his first rebellious phase, he just found out that he doesn't want to do what his parents tell him to do like go to school, get good grades and do his homework.

I can tell you, as someone who has spent time in sober living arrangements, that Styx would not be accepted. For one, you have to prove a reliable source of income (including not living at your parents house). For another, you have to be willing to contribute to communal living, including cleaning, doing laundry, dishes, not annoying your housemates, etc. Styx would never be able to do that unless he agreed to accept a level of humility that he has always spurned.
Plus, sober living arrangements are often run by recovering alcoholics/drug addicts who are corrupt & abusive. They would immediately seize upon Styx as a resource worthy of exploiting due to his Internet income.

You can feel the neckbeard coming through the screen on that first comment, that "he teaches me nothing" was really funny for some reason. Every fedora in the world gets slightly tipped every time this guy comments something.
But comments in his videos are really funny, seems to me like there's more people thinking he has fallen off and lost his mind than actual fans.

In his livestreams, they usually give him the works for being uninteresting, low-effort, drunk, and badly degraded in quality. The Satanist disappointed in his guru is kind of special and funny, though.
