His ex-wife lives in Europe. Mothers usually get the kids if they aren't so fucked up the father gets custody. For most women the kids are like a social safety net. They get alimony plus child support. Child support is usually based on what you earn. It's not like his ex wife lives in 30 minutes away. She is halfway across the world over an ocean. He doesn't really have much choice but to "abandon" the kid.

He mispronounces words in his own native language. There was no way he was going to learn Dutch quickly. He was only over there for a few years. He also has social anxiety. In order to learn a language, you have to actually be able to socialize and communicate. Most Europeans under the age of 45 speak English these days. There is this woman on YouTube who I thought was American till I listened to her speak more closely. She is from the Netherlands same as Styx's wife. It wouldn't be hard for an American to go over to Europe and never really learn even basic conversational Dutch.

No, he has always been cringey weirdo. He didn't suddenly get that way. His views have been declining for a while. He was complaining about it a few years ago. He blamed it on YouTube and the algorithm. He said they were suppressing him or whatever. The reality is he rode of the wave of Trump 2016 and was popular with the alt-right though most people in the alt-right considered him alt-lite. But the cringey weirdness isn't new. He was never "normal".

I was down there back in 2018. That was before Covid. It was just kind of weird to be that far in the South and not see a single confederate flag or hear a southern accent. I was in northern Alabama Guntersville specifically. Up in the mountainous part. I didn't see any gators either. Though I was told they are mostly in the southern part of the state.
