Apologies if this was covered in the thread before, but from what I understand of chaos magic it doesn't have a set canonical list of demons—it's incredibly open-ended, and in theory you can do literally whatever because they don't believe in any set truth beyond what your mind creates.

I assume people are memeing when they reference the Helluva Boss version of Stolas, but under this guy's worlview, couldn't he just straight up make pacts with cartoon characters?

Where do you get the idea to identify the Logos with your own mind? You realize that words can mean different things in different contexts, right? The logos of the stoics isn't exactly the same concept as the Logos in Christianity, etc. The Logos in Christianity is explicitly the second hypostasis of the Godhead. The image of God in man is made in the image of the Logos, but isn't itself the Logos. Whether or not you believe that is irrelevant; John 1 is talking about the Christian understanding.

Oh hey, I know this spell. Cobes gonna be mad, but I'll share it with you guys.

First, you gotta buy and eat some fried chicken. A chicken sandwich or a plate of chicken nuggets are also acceptable. Then, you get in your car, anywhere in the US, and you drive to one of the main drags in town, where the road is pretty straight, but there's a light every few blocks. Then you start looking for magical signs until you see a sign with two numbers on it on the side of the road. If the sign has three numbers, it's not the magical sign; it has to be TWO numbers ONLY. Remember your two-digit magical number, and match the speed on your speedometer to the magical number. When you've synchronized the speed that you're driving with the magical number, the street signals will begin to turn green for you when you approach the intersections. Big 4-way intersections, irregularly-shaped intersections, and freeway off/on ramps disturb the harmonics, so the magic will fail in these areas, but will pick up again once you're past these types of complicated intersections.

In reality, it's known as "driving the posted speed limit", and most traffic lights are on a timer and synchronized so that you'll hit all green lights if you drive the speed limit, except for in the hairy intersections in town. The complicated and congested intersections and freeway junctions are timed so that almost everybody has to stop there, and it encourages people to slow down and prepare to stop when approaching them. This system greatly improves the flow of traffic and encourages responsible driving, so almost every community does this. Only a complete narcissistic loon would convince themself that this was caused by some magical power within themselves, rather than from coincidence or external factors. The chicken is just because everybody has to eat, right? Mmmm, chicken nuggets.

The problem with this theory is that you fail to understand Styx's character and personality. Breaking and entering into the DA's office with a loaded gun to murder him is deranged but at least requires guts. Styx is the type of coward to sit in his bedroom and take credit for any bad thing that happens to his enemies. That way he can feel smug and vindicated without actually having to do anything. The guy has severe social anxiety and is scared to leave his bedroom. Let alone leave it to go murder a lawyer. He lives in his own imaginary world of pretend-magic. His entire life and identity is roleplaying. So I'm going with Occam's Razor here. As in, the simplest solution (least assumptions) is true. Styx taking credit for a guy's death via magic is LARPING, aka roleplay. He's been doing that his entire life to avoid feeling like an ugly loser. 'Cause that lets him feel like an uber-powerful, special snowflake, wizard with powers. Murdering a lawyer would be out of character for him. Smugly taking credit for something he didn't do in the lawyer's suicide, is within Styx's character. So to summarize, to predict Styx is to predict which set of actions is more larpy than the other one. That is the one Styx will take. He is that predictable.
