Being passive aggressive doesn’t make you right. I care about it because I’ve seen lots of people ignore clear shitty behavior talking about “mental illness” till somebody does something fucked up. This site is full of threads describing that exact same behavior.

Didn't mean to ignore, it's just a lot. I did not automatically believe but Samantha is clearly mentally unwell so antagonizing her further seemed wrong and also not good for her kids. What vibe though? To me it's more curiosity than anything else, I guess I never came across such characters.

I actually know 2 people diagnosed with BPD and they are... complicated. But really nice people and trying their best. So, does it vary a lot? Because it's a LOT of chaos here, can't be just 1 mental illness, it's an entire thing wrapped in a mess of a life wreaking havoc all around. Can't say I have extracted anything meaningful, they need psychiatric help

I'm new in the site and was not trying to excuse bad behavior with mental illness. Only that piling up did not seem to help, Idk. Either way, don't think I'd be able to help so I can see why it may come across as a bit upsetting. I know I don't have the ability to help, my bad

Just hiding my powerlevel, I guess. Weird that most people think I'm a female, never had that happen but it's OK.

Wait till a BPD with narcissistic elrments in real life decides you are her favorite person. Prepare for whiplash. Don't get comfortable. Anybody who is nice to them earns their contempt. Wrath, even.

As for SamIAm, I think she's unfixable. She displays zero insight. She's like a technicolor cartoon version of BPD. The best thing is probably that she ties her tubes, enters a convent, becomes the Sisters' problem, and lets some more normal woman raise her children with St. Dylan.

Obviously there are degrees of severity, but also 4 BPD subtypes. Some are more tolerable than others. Our friend Sam here is textbook "petulant".
The petulant subtype involves irritability, resentment, and passive-aggressive behavior, with individuals frequently feeling slighted, impatient, and prone to emotional outbursts.
People with this type of borderline personality disorder may appear angry one moment and sulky or sad the next. They swing unpredictably between emotions. People with petulant BPD can also be very manipulative. They often feel dissatisfied in their relationships.
