I know nothing about how Louisiana courts operate, but I'm going to guess they all follow this same procedure. They're probably at the "screening process" mentioned in the following explanation from the 22nd District. He's definitely playing word games, thinking he's being clever.

Assuming this isn't one of those weird Louisiana things, cases generally start before a magistrate for the preliminaries like arraignment and are then bound over to a higher court like a superior court or district court or whatever they call it in Louisiana if it turns out more serious (like a felony), which sometimes also requires a grand jury indictment depending on the state.
 
OK. I cut the stream early. just removing the ".crdownload" extension on a copy of that file worked to give me a workable MP4 file.

After cutting down to just the interview I have a 481 MB file. Any suggestions on what I can do to get this under the Kiwi Farms 200 MB limit? I am using Avidemax for my editing.

I found the target size compression option.

This is what I use to compress various videos, in order to keep the quality up to a good enough par.

You can download an active live stream using the following secret kode. It doesn't matter if you run this before, after or during the stream. It will wait if the stream hasn't started yet and catch up if it has. You need yt-dlp obviously. Replace the link with whatever stream youre trying to grab.

If he does the anger management and domestic violence course, avoids beating any other girlfriends, and is mostly a good boy, by the end it will never even shows that he was prosecuted for domestic abuse and the Prosecutor's Office will never issue formal charges.

Styx is complaining about this illegal "not charging me." But they are doing him and the rest of the low level offenders a huge favor by not giving them a permanent record.

Well, it appears that he was held for domestic abuse/battery. The docket mentions a domestic abuse charge.

In Louisiana, the first appearance involves a magistrate judge deciding if there was probable cause for the charge and then bail or a bond is set. The arraignment appears to follow later. I guess maybe technically Styx hasn't been charged until the arraignment? Especially if he's insistent that he hasn't been charged, but Styx's position seems to be a stretch for the layman especially if "the court found probable cause on all charges."

Like you said, I think the gameplan is for his attorney to convince the DA to let Styx complete a pre-trial diversion program in return for the charge being dropped (or I guess, never existing ) and the case dismissed. In Louisiana, a first time charge of domestic violence is a misdemeanor, not a felony, so this is very likely. A lot of domestic violence diversion programs include frequent drug and alcohol testing in addition to mental health counseling and routine meetings with a court officer, so Styx may be stuck in Louisiana for a while and he'll have to stay sober while there, which may explain his sudden aversion to alcohol again.

In fact, it looks like he will likely enroll in the New Orleans domestic violence monitoring program next week as a condition of his bond anyway even if these charges apparently don't exist?

The backup plan would be for his attorney to arrange for Styx to plea down to a lesser charge of trespassing or disorderly conduct and walk away with time served. It would save him the stigma of being known as a convicted woman beater and allow him to keep his guns, but it's still a conviction. Styx mentioned that on his Killstream appearance.

Of course, there's always a slim chance that the DA finds that there's nothing to this case and drops it or there is some sort of technicality that causes them to not pursue it and Styx gets off scott-free like he's been saying on his stream. Not very likely, but he does have an owl demon on his side and who knows what Styx has been doing in his hotel room since he bonded out.

Of all the places to have to stay sober, Louisiana has to be about on the bottom of the list.

Apparently he could be there for weeks before his arraignment. I doubt he'll be allowed to go back to Vermont until then and probably not until he completes a state approved intervention program to the court's satisfaction.
